damnnnnn, just saw your post & headed here to check out the pics....... sickkk. I just recently bought a beater so that I wont be using my Z as a DD anymore- so that will make mods a little easier since she is finally going to be my garage queen lol. ive been a little stingy w/ $ lately since im a couple months from getting out of the military... but ive had the itch lately

that's pretty awesome he even helped out w/the install though. that's another thing that's making me hesitate making the move- im not confident enough in my skillz to take off & reassemble the lights w/o completely destroying them in the process lol

I finally found somebody semi-local and pulled the trigger on my headlights! Sooooo happy I did, he did an amazing job and helped me install them at no extra cost.

I know what you mean, if money wasn't a factor I'd 110% be F.I. whore for sure!! (Their TT kit without a single thought) Haha, congrats on the LTH though. Let me know how the install goes and what you're final review is. True WHP/TQ gains if you dyno it and if not let me know how it registers on the butt dyno.

I'm not super super worried about drone though. I traded AAM style short tails for F.I. RTP because of the drone, improved gains, and the girlfriends lack of drone approval lol. I agree on the sports car ideology though, if I truly had my way with her she'd be loud as hell, F.I. Catback non-resonated with non-resonated TP

If only there was a local shop with same day turn around on custom headlights , hell I'd even let them have it for a whole weekend as long as they're ready to go come Monday morning.

i feel as if my opinion on FI is a little biased since im a whore for their products lol. i actually just pulled the trigger and bought some FI LTHs from a member on here yesterday, so pretty stoked to get that put on and pull off my TPs. If i were you, i would scour the forum and wait for a good deal on a used FI CBE. i bought mine brand new (before i knew about this site) from the manufacturer and paid out the ***, mostly bc of shipping since i was stationed in NC at the time.

but i will say this much, if you are worried about the drone- dont let that sway your decision on which setup to get. i drive all the time to seattle in my Z and it really isnt too much, plus its a sports car... not a Caddy or a Lexus haha

and i feel you on the 180... ive been dying to have them do something with my headlights.

I definitely see the whole intake situation the same as you, and read the same as well. I'm trying to decide now if I should hold out for the F.I. CBE w/ 18" resonators or if I should save some money and just go for the AAM Competition S-Line Axleback Exhaust (the one w/ high flow mufflers). Compared to F.I. the gains aren't there with AAM but if I add their mid pipe too later on down the line then they're close. But again, money comes into the picture and if I do that then I actually end up paying more than if I just saved and went with F.I. in the first place I love the sound of both and since it's my daily I think the AAM exhaust will be a little more suitable for my highway driving and around town. It's still up in the air though, I definitely need to do some more reading first.

I wish I could go with F.I. LTH too! From what I've read and I quote, they are "sex" haha. Very pricey though unfortunately, not to mention install cost. Definitely a pain that my Z is my DD, this is also the reason why I haven't sent my headlights to 180 yet

wellll, on the highway the drone can be a little much, ive grown used to it but my wife is always complaining about it lol

my setup started with a CBE, then once I got the itch for another upgrade I was thinking of going full CAI. but after some research I found that the OEM intake for the Z is pretty decent, no need to rip it out. hence the reason why I just replaced the stock filters and swapped the OEM intake tubes. honestly it all boiled down to $$, yeah the Z1 tubes+K&N combo isn't as sexy... but it was a lotttttt cheaper. that's a win IMO. im thinking my next upgrade might be to actually take out the TPs and replace my OEM headers for some FI LTH. just got to save some $$, and its always a pain when the Z is your DD

Haha, no worries man. Thanks for putting that up, it sounds great! How is it on the highway though? I'm going the same route as you because I want the most power possible but it's my DD so it can't be obnoxiously loud or "droney" for long periods of time on the highway.

P.S. - I went with Z1 MAF tubes and K&N drop-ins as a cost savings to put my money into the resonated TP and eventually full F.I. catback exhaust. Any particular reason you went that route too?

Hey man, I was looking through the classifieds and noticed your signature in your OEM emblems thread. You have the exact same set up that I'm in the process of piecing together. Do you have any exhaust sound clips? PM if you do I'd really appreciate it, thanks.
