I was in the USAF in 1970 sitting on the "can" when an earthquake hit.. my first thought was "What the hell did i eat??!! I am dizzy and everything seems to be moving around!"Then I noticed some water in a jug that was swirling and new it wasnt me.

I'm beginning to think that you just don't feel my pain.

We're in foothills 840' above sea level perhaps 10-12 miles from the ocean, so we should be high enough and far enough inland that flooding shouldn't be an issue.
Earthquakes are another matter. Small faults are common and widespread but when I checked into it in 1991 no faults were immediately under or adjacent to our then-new home. The big faults are 50+ miles away. A 6.5 up close and personal is very intense but at 100+ miles it's usually not so bad. A 7.0+ is a real attention getter, fortunately I've never been close to one of those. An 8.0, well you don't want any part of one of those. The major considerations are the magnitude of the quake, the type of soil you are on (sedimentary soils, like much of greater LA/OC, are REALLY bad), the type of construction of your home and how close to fault you are. Supposedly were are good to very good on those issues. I hope we are never actually put to the test.

    You said.

Out here we only have the boring summer for seven months and then we have the brutal 5 months of fall/spring with it's 20" of rain (total) and day after day of blue skys dappeled with clouds and freezing 40 degree lows and scorching 75 degree highs. Ok, once in a while it does get into the upper 80's but what are January and February for if not the occasional trip to the beach? It's such a chore, all that sun screen and short sleve shirts. I was in Temecula two weeks ago and it was so cold I had to wear a coat!.

Is there something wrong with you? Not sayin' just askin"

I really came here to ask how you are regarding that tsunami.. hope your on high ground..

Sorry about the $800. How are Joe and Barry doing? From your picture it looks like you guys are buds, makes me feel left out as I don't have any friends in the political arena.

You already know my opinion on negative posts. It never ceases to amaze and dissapoint me to see how dismissive and insulting some people can be if they don't agree with someone elses views on how to best enjoy the car that they paid good money for. I can't understand why someone is insulted because some of us here are concerned about the cabin noise in the Z. That's like me being insulted because my Z is silver and yours is white and "I just don't get it" as to you wanting a white car-It's just sooo wrong!
