They need to be forward enough so they dont catch reflections off the body panels. if recessed mounted the IR light tends to reflect back into the jammer head and can cause readings on the laser gun.

If they ever question it, it is actually a parking aid that tells you with an alarm if you are going to hit the wall of garage or whatever. :tup:

They work amazingly well. I used the laser interceptor for a few years on my 350. It alerts you with an audible alarm and tells you what gun they are using. lets you slow down and then turn it off so...
