I keep an excel file of my mods, cost, install mile, etc.
I try not to look at that total cost line very often.

I have a folder for each of my cars, with the receipts of every thing i have bought for them and service records, and instruction booklets

Are you kidding me, keeping that stuff is like playing with matches and gasoline. If my wife finds out how much I've spent on my car she'd probably faint, then hire a hit man! She saw my receipt for the TT kit and was like it cost $10K and I just play it cool and said yep, that's what they cost, but it's less than a GTR! She shook her head and walk away LOL!
