sweet car

SvR370z 07-26-2009 12:21 PM

I like this car but if it was up to me id take those nismo badges right back off the car and id put the wing on it as well. The wing looks sweet. Good finish to the car.
The badges im just not feeling. Anyways, Its your ride. Its sweet.

I see the Nismo exhaust on there as well? Do you have any other Nismo stuff added?

Yes, I have the complete Nismo S-tune performance package: exhaust, shocks, struts, springs, front & rear swaybars, dual cold air intakes, and brake pads.

Spec Jay 07-28-2009 09:53 AM

k20z3 08-01-2009 11:42 PM

So did you buy that kit? Or did it come stock like that I know the S-tune, but I dont remember if they came with the car I think you have to buy them, it looks amazing, except the largert nismo badge on the front

Yes I purchased the kit at the time I ordered the car. The dealership will install them for a "small" fee. I do get mixed reviews on the badge placement but I'm not a big fan the driverside hood location myself.

If Z owners are fond of the S-tune or not, the general public takes time to stop and ask me about my car. People that you would assume have zero interest in cars take the time to give their compliments, then get into their Murano or conversion van and drive off. Lol

Seriously though, I have never had a car that got so many people to stop what they were doing to tell me how much they like my car. I have had many sweet rides, but all peeps seem to love the Z.

SgtGoldy 08-12-2009 07:11 PM

that makes sense. I was wondering how you had the nav display when the nismo doesnt come with it.\

I'm about to go buy the Nismo version so hopefully I have pics up for you guys soon. I just really wanted that nav display but to get the HP gain, suspension, brakes, etc. you gotta get the actual nismo.

oh well, lose one thing gain another I guess

NIZMOZ 08-12-2009 07:18 PM

Dealers install the S-Tune package. It doesn't come that way.

SgtGoldy 08-12-2009 07:20 PM

really??

I just talked to the dealer in my area and he said he would have to order the car...

not that he would order the parts

Nismo S-tune is always dealer installed...

The 18HP gain is easily achieved thru Nismo S-tune performance parts as the standard 370Z has tested faster than a "factory Nismo".

Now add the S-tune performance parts to a fully loaded 370Z touring + Sport and guess what happens? It's even faster than before...

Just look at the Titanium shifter, pure Nissan goodness:

He is thinking the NISMO 370z not the S-Tune. Nissan does not have that available as a order option with the car. Dealers order the parts and install them.

SgtGoldy 08-13-2009 06:59 PM

thanks for clearing that up. I hope to have one soon :) btw congratz on the Z. It is gorgeous

I bought the titanium shift knob and didn't install it, it's nice but too bleh

Rooster 08-15-2009 04:53 PM

I don't know why they don't give nismos the option to have navigation. I would love to see that interior with a nav.

I would also want the Nismo to have power seats. It's a shame they limit your options. I think it's due to the car starts at $30K, but if you want everything it's $50K they were avoiding...

No regrets on the Nismo S-tune - has everything, and it sure is a head turner.

I had the same initial thought, and avoided purchasing it at first. I got a good deal on one thru a member here, and I can't believe how much I prefer it over the stock shift knob.

Just look at the Titanium shifter, pure Nissan goodness:

There appears to be a little rubber/plastic ring at the bottom of the shifter where it joins the boot......... did it come with this, or did you have to fashion that yourself to make the install look neat. Thanks.

John

Equinox 08-23-2009 09:53 AM

it comes with this rubber ring - actually I was under the impression you put the ring under the shift boot leather, and the knob goes on top, so they meet eachother and the boot sits flush.

You can install it either way, However I recommend the ring on the outside for grip and sizing. Otherwise your hand will be partially grabbing the boot while shifting. It also looks better IMO on the outside. I could easily see the boot leather wearing quickly if you opt it underneath the boot. The boot, ring, and shifter sit flush under either (look/feel) method you choose. Try both to see what one you like better if you go with the titanium shifter.

How's the weight of the titanium shifter? I like a weighted feel. The factory ball design is a nice feel shape wise, but it is very light.

More weight but far from heavy... Feels much sleeker than the factory knob by far...

Added high flow cats this past Saturday. Love the aggressive sound and added power, too bad it's been raining since Sunday and I won't drive it again until the sun comes back out!

Some updated pics...

I have placed the red background under the Nissan logos on the front and rear, like the pics of the black Nismo s-tune seen in another thread. I have also added the Nismo wheels, which eliminate the need for spacers.

I'll post up some daytime pics when I have a nice day to do so.

Love the color and the car looks great but I'd like to see it with the S-tune spoiler. :D

Thanks. I don't really like the looks of either Nismo spoiler, so you will probably never see it. I think the stock spoiler keeps the lines and shape of the car in tact. The Nismo spoilers both seem to look awful from certain angles. I won't say I'll never do it, but very unlikely.
