I can/will do them by request. Keep in mind, this is not a cheap option. They are one-off pieces built to order, whatever you want done can be done as long as if there is the physical space to do it.

If cost is a factor, a cheaper (and still nice) option would invovle using universal gauge pods and mould them to the a-pillar.

Maybe... But I did do laundry. That should even things out. :tup:

Mr&Mrs 12-12-2012 11:47 AM

The ones I have now Dave put in and are super clean. Yet they still do not look like a factory item. If I get time I will try and take a picture tonight.

Cool, I would like to see how it turned out.

The part I ordered from Nissan is to make my pod look more factory. I should have thought about it before I started doing the work, now I have to "undo" some of it. Oh, well. It's going to look great once it's done.

Shaved carbon

Had a productive couple of hours out in the garage. Shaved the carbon fangs to fit with the Mine's lip, and test fit the moustache.

It was a little nerve wracking trimming the fangs, but it turned out well.

Also found a guy 30 minutes away that will be able to rework my Berk CBE so it mates up with the Boosted Perfomance turbo kit :tup: Happy, happy, happy!

Thanks!

I'm looking forward to it too. I just noticed, while looking at the picture I posted, an area that I'm not entirely happy with... I need to find time to get into the garage to have a closer look... :ugh2:

ENT-Z 12-14-2012 09:16 PM

Everything is looking great! I am waiting to see what you have in store for that gauge pod. As I told you I have a 52mm multi gauge that I want to mount in that spot. I'll do a temporary mounting until you have your plans all sorted out!

Nut_N_Much 12-15-2012 09:43 AM

Man, that front end is looking good. I love that CF look. :tup: Good job, you have some amazing skills. McGuyver doesn't even start to describe them!!!

So, good news... I just received a phone call from the local dealership, the part I ordered for my gauge pod is in :woot:

The bad news... I don't have the time to work in the garage for a few days :shakes head:

I'm trying to figure out where to add CF to the new gauge pod, but the design doesn't really permit the use of it... I'll have another look today to see if I can figure something out.

GaleForce 12-19-2012 06:36 PM

Well... finished :tup:

I customized the bezel from the Innovate Motorsports A/F ration gauge from gloss black to a nice satin black to match the other gauges.

Top = Factory
Bottom = Custom

It'll be a little while before I mount it in the car as I need to remove the IP so I can swap out the triple gauges.

Mr&Mrs 12-19-2012 07:25 PM

:yum: I can haz?

I didnt forget about the requested pic of mine, just been lazy lol. The car is so far away in the garage and sitting in it just to take a picture annoys me to even think about lol.

Is that black crinkle coat for a finish? Did you just spray bomb it? wow! :yum:

I used SEM texture spray. The finish can be smoothed out more. I did that first and thought it was too smooth. I resprayed the texture and was happy with this look. It's a little more texture than stock, but close. I think the harsh lighting in the photo makes it look more textured than it really is.

After the texture is applied, I sprayed the whole thing with Satin Black plastic/leather flexible dye.

Top notch materials were used. A can of texture coating and a can of dye was $56. :eek:

I would not recommend using krylon. Unless you don't mind it looking like crap in a few months :icon14:

Great work here, did not see this thread till now.

I just don't know if the car will be as fast as it looks with the turbo kit. Great project....looking forward to the finished product, although it looks like you are a lot like me...it is never finished.

I can always build the motor if it's not fast enough. But I think this will be plenty fast enough... for a little while :tup:

Thanks for the compliments! Looking forward to building your kit.
