This is straight jdm and so sweet looking. God I love Nissan

Do you have an approximate idea more or less of what the ball park in power you will be making to the wheels? You said you had a sprint booster along with an uprev tune. Will the defeat the purpose of either or as far as throttle response?

Well with all the head work I have done and the cams and everything else I have with the right tune I would probably say 370-380 whp. I haven't had a chance to send any data to Uprev for an Etune because I was only able to drive it a day then had to deploy so I still have the break in process to finish when i get back. JUN has come out with a more aggressive cam profile and so I think when I get to the states in Oct I will be swapping the new cams out for the higher profile cams due to there aggressiveness. By the end I am looking for around 400whp. I believe the motor will last longer if built to factory specs all motor then any F.I setup. I am in the process now of acquiring the GTM stage 3 transmission to handle the power load cause the automatic transmissions are the weak link in the car. I was just reading the results from the GTR intake manifold and i am not impressed for the time that was put in for the fitment and the results are lost low end power but gained top end power just like the M370 manifold.

Hey everyone. I am still in Japan. I finally go home in about two weeks. While I am here last weekend I traveled to Tokyo and was able to visit JUN. I met the president of JUN and it was so awesome to pick his and the head mechanics brain. I also asked what was in development for the z34. Currently they are working on the intake side of the heads and the VVEL. They will be finished with what they a developing in about two months and make it available to the public. I asked if it was computer related he did it was not. It was going to be mechanical for the intake side. I did bring up the subject about an intake manifold. Of course the wonderful R35 have a priority but he did say its step by step for our cars. I did say that a lot of people are going F.I but a lot of us also want to stay N.A. Their clients vehicle with all upgrades in the heads and bolts alone made 382whp and 323tq. When they perform the intake side development they are estimating around 405whp. He said his clients are always wanting to push the envelop with N.A power in the z34 and are wanting for power and products for the z34.

I am going back this weekend before I leave and his clients are going to be there this time with their z34's so I will take some pics. If we want quality products we all have to give it time our vehicles are not old and he said JUN and other Japan based companies know that the market is big for the z34.

Mr&Mrs 05-28-2013 07:19 AM

Can you try and source a Zele Strut Bar for me before you come back? :-)

Navyboy916 05-28-2013 07:25 AM

Sure, its in Yokohama and that's on my way to Tokyo so I can stop by this weekend and ask them for you

Mr&Mrs 05-28-2013 10:52 AM

That would be awesome maybe they have a display model they would be willing to part with. They no longer make the strut so it would have to be a used one. That is the only piece im missing besides their wing but I dont really want that.

I ordered it back in November but when they went to outsource it (they do not make the strut in house) something happened between them and their supplier.

Here is a video of a ride along with the JUN z34. It's a built VQ37VHR engine with high compression pistons, connecting rods and cams. 382 whp.

Sweet, some nice rides.

Unique_Z 06-01-2013 02:32 PM

woah 382whp?? cool!

datykoo 06-01-2013 02:43 PM

I am very curious on how they achieved this much on the VQ37. Did they stroke up the engine? if not, did they increase the rpm redline to maybe 8500+?
making 380 WHP on a 3.7 litre engine NA with just a 7500 redline seems a bit impossible to me. Not trying to say they are lying, just curious. :icon17:

Gaston370Z 06-01-2013 04:02 PM

Interesting that the 370 still has the stock intake air boxes and tubes.... 382rwhp! Did you get the magic formula for that kinda power?

Also probably on 100 octane so that helps a little but still really impressive numbers!

Chuck33079 06-01-2013 05:20 PM

Isn't that the car that has different pistons in addition to the cams?

Gaston370Z 06-01-2013 05:37 PM

Id be willing to set it up for E85 and build the engine like this.... Na power is so sexy.:driving:

Navyboy916 06-01-2013 07:52 PM

Thanks guys for the response to the pics and videos. I tried to make sure I got enough for you guys. Yes the pistons are high compression and the bore and stroke are stock. The fenders are something that Circuit Concept out of Japan is working on. Most of this car was created through Circuit Concept. I am sorry i didn't get a pic of the engine strut bar but its Titanium wrapped in dry carbon Fiber. You can go to there website and check it out. The hood is dry carbon as well. I felt the weight of it and omg it was finger operable. The fenders is something they are working on right now and they used that car to do a fit test and it was sweet. The fuel here goes up to 100 octane at the pump so yes he always uses 100 octane. I asked the same question about the stock air boxes and he said the owner was really happy with them and HKS filter inside. Mind you he could get more power out of something else but that is his choice. Of course I am really only interested in power and staying NA so I asked alot about the VVEL and the programing. JUN is working directly with Nissan Japan to change the programing table for the Z34 so users and companies are able to adjust the intake side and VVEL on the car. JUN swapped the intake rods out and found no gain from that so the next step is to mess with the VVEL actuators which they are in the process of doing. I wasn't able to get pics from Top Secret or Zele cause they didn't have any performance cars there at the time I went and I didn't stay long. I will be back in my car in a week and when I get back I will take video and pics with my complete cylinder head build. Any more question let me know

Mr&Mrs 06-01-2013 07:58 PM

Did you get any info on the Zele strut bar?

Navyboy916 06-01-2013 08:31 PM

Yes, i did sorry I didnt tell you I forgot who ask me. They took it off the market due to the demand not being there mostly due to the price but, they are making a different design for the strut bar. They later this year it will be released and cheaper so it should be more demanding. They apologized for not having any to sell.

I am finally back from deployment and fully detailed my car. The car is running great now after I was able to get rid of the p0300 code due to my Hks plugs not being gapped correctly so of course it was misfiring but all fixed now and sounds and runs great. I will be taking some video so u can hear and see my car with the new heads and cams.

ka24king 06-15-2013 04:06 PM
