wheee!'s Journal - RoZy

lol

The D link end is from a cheap eBay tow hook that didn't fit our cars and I took a 1" billet aluminum rod and turned it down to the right size to clear my amuse front bumper. The threading was a bit of an issue as I didn't have the exact die set for the 1" threads. Had to fiddle around a bit. It's a show piece as I don't think it would withstand towing the vehicle. I just didn't want dissimilar metals causing an issue if I left it in for a season. The stock tow hook is steel.

Can I weld it to my intercooler? lol.

That looks beautiful Mark! I love it.

wheee! 03-24-2014 10:16 AM

Actually, you probably could have Sasha weld a small threaded adapter to the front of the intercooler to thread a tow hook onto. Have to ask Sasha how structurally sound it would be. Then after that, fabbing up a billet tow hook is simple. Just add an eBay end ring and voila...!

simota1 03-30-2014 05:41 AM

nice tow hook brother!!! :D

wheee! 04-10-2014 06:21 PM

Minor progress but important non the less! Bodyshop got the hood to sit flush. Had to mod the hinges a little but it looks good now!

Spoiler is positioned and drilled for mounting too. Still need to mock up the skirts.

Ugh. The winter wheels make me cringe... Going to have to sell them to an Infiniti driver this year.

zefaulter 04-11-2014 09:27 AM

Lol I have similar feelings toward my winter wheels. I got 36m spacers for the back so they don't look as bad anymore

edconline 04-11-2014 10:13 AM

Wait, aren't those your summer wheels Mark?

:stirthepot:

Mitco39 04-11-2014 10:18 AM

Its gonna look good mark. Hopefully it moves along well. Ive seen sweepers out and I think next week you will see them out in full force.

I'm hoping the car is done in the next two weeks. That would be great!

Out of curiostity, can't you just replace those with spare tires? could buy 3 for around $200. kinda wasteful, those wheels/tires will look great on a civic or something

wheee! 04-12-2014 11:43 AM

I bought the car for my wife in January in Canada.... That idea lasted two weeks and we never winter drove the car again. Hence the nice wheels.

Plasmite 04-14-2014 09:07 AM

How are you liking that hood? I am going to get that one for sure I think.

Going to change the rear bumper and wing though, seems like everyone and their dog has that one lol

zefaulter 04-14-2014 09:34 AM

It's because it looks great

Plasmite 04-14-2014 09:52 AM

No disagreement there. Just want something unique I think. Looking for a newer kit

I like the hood very much so far. Will have more to report once it is painted and out of the body shop in the next two weeks. Hopefully...

As for the rear, each to their own. There are a lot of nice rear bumpers to choose from, but the amuse kit is still my fav combo. Mine is the only amuse rear and Seibon NS spoiler combo I know of too....

~37oZ~ 04-14-2014 11:16 AM

looks great so far Mark! Can't wait to see the end result!

wheee! 04-14-2014 01:50 PM

I've plasti-dipped the mesh inserts so they should look nice in the hood too...

Just curious about your tyre setup.

Do they rub at all with the swift springs?

I currently have the eibach springs installed and thinking of going 265/35 fronts and 305/30 rear setup. Just wanted to confirm that they don't rub. I'm also running 20MM on all fours.

No rubbing with the setup I have. I have enough front camber with the swifts and 15mm spacer to clear the fenders and I have never had any issues withthe back either.
