Doing it right! Should be a fun retirement. The RV will serve you a lot more than a 458 would!

Rusty 10-01-2014 01:47 AM

Already put 10,000 miles on it this spring/summer. Spent 3 week out west with it. Denver Co, Moab, Lake Powell Ut., Colorado Springs, Bailey Co. Then to Rausch Creek, Gettysburg, Ocean City Md twice. Another trip this month for a long weekend. :D

Rusty

I can't seem to find your recommended brake fluid. I thought I saw you post in here about some cheaper stuff that's fine for some track use.

Rusty 10-02-2014 06:54 PM

I use Motul 600. I bleed the brake and clutch in March before the Autobahn season starts. :driving:

What I use is in my list of mods in my first post. ;)

So as the only guy around here with the Nismo RC ducts, I have to ask your opinion. These look pretty similar to the RC duct shape. Do you think they could be made to function as such/look as good?

djtodd 12-09-2014 06:29 PM

Those aren't brake ducts, but are for intakes/cooling. There is a guy making replica nismo ducts now in cf at a very affordable price. I have a set and love them. Pm me if you want details and I can put you in touch

Like dj said. Those are not brake ducts. But are for getting fresh air to the stock air filter boxs. The factory brake ducts like I have list for $612.00 each. If you really want the RC styled brake ducts. PM dj.

The helmet came in today. Tried it on. Fits great. But, boy is it light! Weighs around 5 lbs. Feels like a feather. It's lighter then my Shoei X11. The Bell seams like it might be a little thicker in foam at the top. Making it a taller helmet. But it has to be broken in yet too. Meaning I have to watch tv with it on for awhile.

Also got the Bell Helmet backpack, a dark smoke shield, and 2 shield protection sleeves. The backpack has room for a helmet, spare shields, gloves, and extras.

No, he wears a Simpson. Which was my second choice.

Thanks for sharing the build information, very informative! I'll need to do the brake duct cooling mod sometime.

Hell yeah! Seems like we have quite a few making the trip this year.

jooonnn 02-23-2015 06:36 PM

Love the new tire setup rusty. You have again inspired me to mod my car. I am looking to get the same tire size and wheel size/offsets as you. Is there any advice you would like to give before i pull the trigger? (Eg: do it!!/ Dont do itI!! / i wish i got this size instead!!) im on stock nismo height with stock camber arms

If you go with the 325's in the rear. Everything is perfect. The 345's poke out about 1/4" with camber set at -1.75 at stock height. So you might want to play with the offset. Eric at "Getyourwheels" helped me out. That's where I got my rims at too. ;)

Pic is the 345's

jooonnn 02-23-2015 06:59 PM

Awesome! I apologize if i am a bit new to this but Is the 1/4" poking out a bad thing? So do you prefer the 325s or the 345s after having both?

If you go lower with a set of springs with my offsets. I believe that it will rub the 345's. The 325's no. As for which ones I like. I haven't tracked the 345's yet. :(

Next track day is in April. :driving: Hoping phunk gets RRP V2 to me soon so that I can try it out on the track and report back. :D

Not really. If I do lower it. It won't be more then 3/4". Need clearance for the front spoiler. It's already beat up from tracking. :driving:

First trackday of the year. I fell slow and was driving a tank. :shakes head: Took 2 sessions to get the cobwebs out of my head. Still didn't feel up to speed. :shakes head: BUT, I did enjoy myself. :D :driving: New helmet. I like.

I moved the GoPro to the windshield for a different view. Never seen what I look like driving. LOL I taped the mike to the bar that holds the GoPro when I have it mounted between the seats. It doesn't sound like it's loud in the car, but it is. :icon14:

You don't know what loud is, until you get passed by a nascrap stock car.
The Ferrari 430 that was in my group was quite. Couldn't hear him pass me. Told him in the pit that he needed louder exhaust so that I can hear him pass me. :icon17:

Rusty 04-20-2015 05:30 PM

Only took 2 videos Saturday. Sessions 2 and 3. Had problems with my GoPro remote. Did 3 sessions in Group 2 Solo. For the last session. They put Group 2 Solo and Group 3 crazies together. So I got 4 sessions. :happydance:
