djpathfinder 10-03-2011 10:50 PM

Great start! Keep us updated.

TheGreatOne 10-05-2011 06:36 PM

Some pics of the recent drop

Like most say with TEIN, definitely more than the advertised 0.9/0.7" drop...

What a difference a better camera makes too lol

SPOHN 10-05-2011 06:57 PM

Looking good. Needs some spacer now.

TheGreatOne 10-05-2011 07:08 PM

Ya, spacers for sure. I got 20mm on order for the rear, that should do the trick I think

MD-370z 10-05-2011 08:18 PM

hey greatone car looks great. How is the scraping issue with a 1 inch drop and the FI exhaust. running the same exhaust in montreal now for over a year and a half now i think. No issues so far and am thinking about doing a drop, just want to know if you have had any issues?

Hey man, thanks, so far so good, had no issues at stock height, its been 1 week with the drop, no issues with exhaust yet and you know how bad our streets are lol.

I seem to be scraping on the way out of my condo parking though...not the mufflers but maybe around the cat area...

I personally think Swifts might be too low, however if you are on 20", technically you gain a bit. Thinking coilovers or springs?

MD-370z 10-06-2011 03:23 PM

Thinking 18 inch rims for track with 30 height tires so gonna drop an inch just due to wheel diameter difference. I scrape my chin spoiler leaving my Parkin garage daily as well high I can live with just don't want to scrape my exhaust.

TheGreatOne 10-14-2011 09:09 PM

Got my Carbon Signal Gauge Hats and Shifter ring

Amazing quality and the guys are Carbon Signal are great, well A.J lol. Still have to install the shifter ring...been busy lately getting the baby room ready

anyways, some pics

Last purchase was some Carbon Fiber side blades :)

Probably take a picture of a test fit this weekend but they won't go on till spring since storage is around the corner for me soon. Hopefulyl match them up with Shine Auto rear spats...

Nice pic of my shifter ring from Carbon Signal installed

Carbon Signal

They have a few threads in the Exterior/Interior section. Great work and it comes pretty fast from Dubai

So car is in storage :(

To keep me busy over the winter while the car is down, plans are:

- DIY Blacked Out Headlights...will take the plunge and will show progress pics...will attempt a more detailed DIY if I can too
- Re-do my DIY Nismo Engine cover...should have sanded more the first time
- Get OEM rims re-finished (get rid of some curb rash)

Buy

- Shine Auto rear spats in CF (Getting them from Vivid Racing)
- Motordyne Art Pipes (probably)
- H&R Spacers 15/20
- INGs+1 front lip in CF

Go crazy installing in the spring with a Uprev tune :)

Oh, and some pics of the side blades I picked up. Seller said they were Shine Auto...thought maybe they were EVO-R but there is no EVO-R badging. I think it will match up nicely with the rear side spats and ING+1 front lip

TheGreatOne 03-14-2012 11:19 AM

So taking car out of storage today :happydance:

I ended up getting most of the things I wanted over the winter as mentioned before, except the front lip and ART Pipes, but waiting for this member to part out his pipes, I got dibs!

I'll be installing a lot of things tonight and tomorrow oil change and spacers get done. So hopefully lots of new pics this week and then a meet this sunday!

So I got Z1 Spacers, went 20mm stud replacement up front, 25mm in back. can't wait to be flush

- Z1 Spacers 20/25mm
http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/w...on/Spacers.jpg

I jumped on the Royal Purple bandwagon and bought some HPS oil and filter, will see how that goes

http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/w...iction/RP1.jpg

Also can's wait to install the rear spats, often felt te rear looks a little high in back, this will help a lot.

- Shine Auto CF rear Spats

GaleForce 03-14-2012 12:31 PM

Nice! Those wheel spacers look well made. Post pics when you get that stuff installed!

I brought my Z out last week. I need to take it in for an oil change. I would do it myself but I got free oil changes for one year with the purchase of the Z. May as well take advantage of it.

Thanks GaleForce, I saw some flurries this morning, I was like WTF! lol.

Will do for sure. I know a lot of people wanted to see what those engine bolts look like too

Free oil changes, ya definitely take advantage of that. My condo building won't let me change oil in the garage lol...no "mechanics" lol

TheGreatOne 03-14-2012 01:20 PM

Oh and headlights are done, can't wait to put these in tonight. Easily the lowest costing mod with the most impact in looks I think

- Krylon Satin Black Housing
- OEM KAV for the Projector and turn signal Shroud

Did you do the lights yourself? What's OEM KAV? Is that the paint code for your car? The lights look awesome!

Yup, did them myself. I baked one set open, I used a hairdryer on the other, so both work well to open them up (hair dryer less scary lol)

ya, KAV is the paint code for the Quartz paint, got an aerosol can from automotivetouchup.com

and thanks! :tiphat:

I have them on now :) Just heading to a shop here for a bit of work and hopefully have more pics tonight

GaleForce 03-15-2012 11:09 AM

Sweet! Can't wait for the pics!

I'm going to wait to get my aero bits on before I decide to paint my lights... I really like the look though...

So we had our first Spring meet on Sunday, was a beautiful day

I wouldn't call it a photoshoot but we have a bunch of guys in the club who are camera crazy, we'll have a new video soon but I finally have some cool shots of my car

TheGreatOne 03-26-2012 07:43 AM

So trying to figure out the next mod, I am still waiting on this guy to part out his ART pipes...but untill then, was still looking for something not to pricey that will help round out the looks

- Carbon Fiber B Pillars
or
- OEM Black Pearl Nismo emblems (Front/Back)

Both could be had from the Z store for under $150. I know I could plasti dip my emblems but at the end of the day, nothing can beat the nicely painted OEM black burgers

I still have my CF Evo R side blades to install and I'm leaning towards the B Pillars to round out the Carbon Fiber

speedfreek 03-26-2012 07:53 AM

If you want to keep the burgers I say plasti-dip your silver ones. Otherwise if I were to get new emblems I would go with the Z emblem front/back. For the same price as the black pearl emblems.

So with that I would go with plasti-dipping the stock emblems and getting the CF B Pillars to go with all your other CF components.

TheGreatOne 04-18-2012 09:30 PM

Oh and I remember some people were wondering about the Sickspeed dress up bolts...

Some pics below, for the price, awesome, I just have to find more screws/bolts to replace so I can use all 10 I bought lol

Looking good. I think I want some red engine bay dress up bolts as well. I have seen a couple different styles on Ebay.

happytheman 04-18-2012 10:27 PM

That looks great man! I've been really wanting to put some red in my engine bay lately and have been bumming about the statement that red silicone fades to pink. :(

But anywho, you're bay is looking :yum:

TheGreatOne 04-19-2012 06:42 AM

Thanks guys!

Ya, I was thinking about red hoses too but worried about the fade. I hear the Samco and Z1 hoses hold colour well though!

GaleForce 04-19-2012 07:04 AM

Your car is looking really good! Me likey

TheGreatOne 05-15-2012 05:07 PM

So nothing really new, althought I bought an INGS+1 replica lip as I'm not sure it will last more than a day but I figured what the heck, I have to try lol. I'll take a picture of a test fit this week.

Still have to install my ART Pipes, i'll get around to that in June (after vacation) then right after a tune! Can't wait for that

For now, I have some rolling shots! :driving:

Nice rolling shots TGO! The second one is my fav!

I see you drive with your elbow propped up on the sill, eh? I used to do that until I saw it made a slight divot on the material. Although it snaps right back, for the time being, I worried one day it wouldn't. :)

Thanks Happy!

Ya, I noticed the elbow/divot thing too lol. So not a fan either, worried it might wear out the material...but its so comfy! So where do you leave your arm now?:icon17:

I guess you can straight arm like a cool guy or when i'm in traffic i have my arm in my lap holding the bottom of the steering wheel

TheGreatOne 06-20-2012 03:02 PM

Small Update

- Finally got my ART pipes installed. Love them! Low end torque is back and I can actually get the back loose in 2nd with VDC ON! lol, which is nice. :) I think I am getting some deceleration hiss though. Sounds as if I have bad brakes, but its not when I brake

- Had the car Uprev tuned on Monday at Johnny's Motorsport's to get the mods working well together, car was running rich for sure. We brought it down to 12.7 and advanced timing. He also did a few other things that now let me chirp the tires in 1st and 2nd, heck, he chirped it on the dyno which made me smile

This is the baseline...it was 222 TQ, nice and flat line, so torque everywhere....I went there with 91 octane which was dumb, should have went with 94 to get the best possible tune. I have a few Maps, 91, 94, Valet (Car won't go above 3K) and a Launch Control which is nice for the drag strip.

Will go back with 94 and a cold car to see what my gains really were, after 3 hrs, car was heat soaked, even with letting it cool down for 30 minutes in-between. Also Mustang dyno is a little more stingy on numbers compared to a dynojet. I'm expecting another 15HP when I go back
