Well, time for a much needed update. Got the Status seats and harnesses installed and did a track day which went really well. Switched to 94 Octane fuel as it is more available here finally and used my third etune from Uprev.

I purchased KW V3's from a member on here which I will be installing to replace my Swift/Koni combo. The handling from the Swifts and Konis was amazing, however where I live I need to be able to bring my ride height back up. Badly.

Recently, a couple of my friends offered to do a photoshoot of the car for me, so I happily accepted. Here are some of the shots: (More in my album)

And with seats like that, you definitely don't need a "No Fat Chicks" sticker.... they won't fit! lol

Yup, that's true. Unfortunately it limits some of my buddies from rolling with me now too lol.

Thank you sir!

Got the custom A-Pillar dual gauge pod I ordered from Galeforce installed today as well as my Aeroforce Interceptor gauge, thanks to JMac88 for the hookup on the gauge :tiphat:

Let me start by saying that I am extremely impressed with the quality, fit and finish of the gauge pod, I would recommend this pod from Jason (Galeforce) to anyone, excellent customer service and this thing looks amazing installed, pictures do not do it justice

Only one teaser pic for now from my iphone as the car is still hiding in the garage waiting for spring in this godless place!

Looks great! I've been waiting to see it installed and hear your thoughts. I'm very happy to hear you like it. Thanks for the review.

JMac88 04-10-2013 09:23 PM

See you got your Aeroforce, how do you like it?

edconline 04-10-2013 09:41 PM

Haven't started the car since i installed it, that's how much I've been gone! I did set it up, you'll have to take a look for me and see if I have all the settings right. Pretty excited to get it out for this tune! Thanks again for the info :tiphat:

Haha it's funny you would ask that, I was just talking to some guys about potentially getting a steering wheel from CFE, I saw yours up in the for sale thread too. I'd get the leather and carbon I think though, just a personal preference, and probably a red center stripe. I do love how it looks though :yum: GLWS, I'm sure there are guys that will want that combo!

Mitco39 04-11-2013 02:53 PM

Cant wait to see this car in person!

Mitco39 04-11-2013 03:02 PM

Also.. How do you like that ZR4? was thinking of going with a 9500CI but this seems to be a much more economical route since I already have the 9500IX.

edconline 04-11-2013 04:30 PM

The ZR4 is awesome, no huge saves with it yet but a couple small ones. You should def get that and integrate it with the 9500ix instead of spending all that money on the ci, especially since it's legal out here, no need to hide it! You'll need it now that you have the turbo in too ;)

Let me know if you get it and I can show you how I installed mine.

It has now just been added to my "to order" list. I noticed all they use pretty much now is laser, at least in legit speed traps. I also stumbled across this cool (if it works) gadget.

Photo Radar Blocker detects and defeats all speed cameras and mobile speed vans

I haven't even heard of this until now.

Thanks again!

Mitch

Lucky bastards.

I'm heading to the U.S. soon and thinking about radar detectors...

edconline 04-11-2013 11:16 PM

^do it! I grew up in ON and if I moved back i would get the redline and stealth mount it, call it a day! Can't imagine driving without a detector now.

I had a radar detector years ago (~12 years). Got confiscated :shakes head:

There are 2 major traps on the section of highway between my house and work (one coming and one going). The only good thing is they always set up in the same spots.

wheee! 04-12-2013 07:21 AM

The Redline is an "undetectable" detector. Like Ed says, good thing to have mounted in a stealth location just for peace of mind!

And because they are Illegal I am sure the cops are less stealthy about using their radar guns in ON. Here in Alberta they keep them off and just turn them on when they want to get you, thats how they get around the radar detectors. Its also why you want to try and find a "rabbit" that is speeding up ahead of you.

Its a big game of cat and mouse :happydance:.

Not that I speed :icon14:

That is why I always stay behind the FI guys.... Bear bait!

edconline 04-12-2013 11:09 AM

Keeping the radar off then turning it on suddenly or waking it up out of standby only works so well, I've gotten hit with those a bunch and you generally have lots of time to slow down before they get your speed.

Yup if you are quick enough and your speed is changing to quickly (slamming on the brakes) it wont register on their gun till you settle out. I got one ticket in my truck over the winter just simply because I was not paying attention and did not react to the radar detector fast enough. It also didnt help that I thought the limit was 100 not 80.

sig11 04-12-2013 12:11 PM

States like Ohio are true ********. They claim to train the cops to VISUALLY judge whether or not you are over the speed limit.

Plasmite 05-14-2013 09:26 AM

Gotta love the good old yellow lines on the highway....

In Ontario they no longer use radar detectors on the highway, only LIDAR. They will still use some radar for residential areas but it is almost going all laser now, good because you can jam it (momentarily) but bad because you have no warning and will need a clean pair of pants. ;)
