HFCs came today, but no one was home. Gonna pick them up from the post office tomorrow and try installing them with help from Kirk's Garage. Also doing an oil change tomorrow, trying Mobil1 0W-40 (used Mobil1 5W-30 before). Front lip will be installed on Tuesday.

What kind of HFC you get? Btw how did you get the Berk CBE for 720$? Was it new?

I got the CNT Racing/ERZ HFC. Wanted the Berks to go with my CBE, but I couldn't get over the $100 savings :p

No it was a used one. I guess the guy was trying to get rid of it quickly and I was the first to jump on the offer. You see these crazy deals on the forum from time to time. There was a guy in VA a couple weeks ago who sold his FI exhaust for like $400!

My cousin and I tried the install last night and failed. :(
Gonna see if I can get a more experienced person to help me out. Otherwise I have to pay a shop to do it.

Yeah it is a God of War reference. It's one of my favorite games

Spray the bolts with PB Blaster and let them sit for a few hours. If you have 24" worth of extensions and a u-joint socket, you should be good to go.

Tried all of that but still no luck. I think we used too small of a breaker bar. Found out my cousin had a bigger one, but not till we already gave up and put everything back together.

KevinB 02-19-2012 12:06 PM

I bought an impact 14mm (6 sides) socket and impact wrench extensions and a 24" breaker bar from harbor freight. Used the pb blaster too. It was difficult but worked. Good luck!

Thanks! I'm gonna try again on Saturday, this time with the help of a local member who's done it before on his Z.

I'll just spray out a big sheet of plasti dip, peel it off, fold it up, and then give it to him :roflpuke2:

Let me know if you encounter scraping issues since you run lower profiles w/ swifts you are about 1 inch lower than me.

May have to copy you.

Only on some driveways (like yours :p) but it's only when I forget to attack at a really sharp angle. If you stick with 40 series tires (45 front, 40 rear) you'll probably save a bunch on install costs and have less scraping issues. That's what I'm gonna do for my next set if they're available in those sizes.

Yeah, I plan to go 245/40/18 F and 265/40/18 R - keeps the OEM sidewall sizes so speed won't be off and car won't even be lower.

It's all gonna end up costing me:

1100.00 - tires
90.00 - mount and balance
90 - alignment
200 - spacers

:icon14:

Alchemy 02-22-2012 10:15 AM

Looks great B1ades  I like how you painted it too. Now just get those HFCs installed. +1 (my rep will be blank)

The PSS's don't come with 275/40's.

265 would be a better fit - less buldge with 40' series anyway. :p

Thanks Jon! Not many things left for me to do in terms of mods. Still want to eventually get my roof wrapped with black vinyl, get an UpRev tune, and last will probably oil cooler+brake pads so I can finally track it.

Yes and yes. So glad I decided to install these instead of selling them :)

Plasti dipped my wheels last night. Went with a gunmetal color. Started off with 4-5 coats of black plasti dip and then used 3 coats of the silver plasti dip metalizer.

You can't really see the metallic effect in the pics, but you can in person.
