I definitely want to, but I think those may have to be a Christmas present for me. I gotta start spending money on gifts for Christmas soon anyways so I better not go broke!

Very nice, thank you. I do plan on getting the Berk HFC's also but I'm trying to finish the exterior first, she's just so quite though so I have to at least get short tails to hold me over. Somatic's sound great.

Great pix too.

Thank you. The one thing I may do borderlinig overboard is get the Amuse wing instead of the Mines add on. I would have it paint matched except for the horizontal top piece which I would leave carbon. I have only seen this wing on one car without the rest of the body kit and it is a little too much for the stock rear bumper, but with my carbon add ons and the Evo-r diffuser which is on my list of things to do I think it might go good. And then instead of drilling holes in my stock spoiler I could sell it for a small profit, We'll see

Yeah you will really notice how much HFCs change the sound of your car with the aam short tails on. It's crazy.

Well hopefully they don't mind too much, cause I'm sure I'll get both short tails and HFC's along with the stillen gen 3's and then some here in a few months.

WOW ....amazing transformation and too fast for us to even comment on..lub what you have done so far...and that might be an understatement...so far...listen to your g/f and wait until Xmas. Need some time to enjoy it before next mod.

btw...is that c/f on roof or what?

Thanks. Every time I take it out feels like getting into a new car. I only drive it a couple times a week. Now that it's starting to get cold I'll be driving it even less.

The roof is wrapped in a gloss black vinyl. I originally wanted a carbon fiber roof inspired by the new M3's but the carbon fiber roof costs around $6-700 I think. There is a vinyl that has the carbon fiber look, but it's more matte than glossy and wouldn't go good with the rest of the carbon fiber on the car.

Really like the lip kit you have. I have a question you may or may not be able to answer. Do you know what is behind the side skirts. More importantly behind the the last part where it rises up to meet the rear quarter panel?

Dallaz 11-04-2011 12:45 AM

These photos may help. I'm not sure but I think you mean the area of the side skirt that is only visible when the door is open?

If you are wondering in regards to removal, then all there is holding the skirt in place after screws have been removed from the back, front, and underneath, are snap clips that can just be pried apart from the body when wedged properly. And that little strip of 3M tape

Skeeterbop 11-04-2011 12:53 AM

Thanks Dallaz, those pictures were exactly what I needed to see. A friend and I were discussing an idea a couple weeks ago about having a side exit exhaust that came out through the side skirt. We decided that if some time and a chunk of money it could look nice. Not sure how it would sound, but we both agree it has the potential to look bada$$. I was talking about the area right in front of the rear wheel.

Dallaz 11-04-2011 01:01 AM

Aah glad to have helped. I'm a valet and will tell you something about side exhausts. They friggin burn the heck out of you if you forget as your getting out of the car and set your leg on the side skirt for leverage when getting out. I learned that from Vipers while wearing shorts. Not fun

Skeeterbop 11-04-2011 01:02 AM

oh one other question, how satisfied are you with the aam short tails?

Dallaz 11-04-2011 01:05 AM

Well actually I haven't got them
Yet. Those pictures shown are of Flushnismo's car but he said they sound great. And also Somatic had just short tails before doing any other engine/exhaust mods and it sounds killer. I'm definitely going to get them

Skeeterbop 11-04-2011 01:06 AM

haha, What we were thinking was to have a body shop cut a hole down low near the bottom rear corner of the side skirt and have it blended in so the exhaust tip would actually be recessed from the surface a little. Then get a hi temp rubber O-ring to make it fit nice and snug while preventing rattles as well.

If you guys could possibly get this to work it would be pretty crazy. It would give the opportunity for new rear diffuser designs as well

One weekend when i have nothing better to do I'm getting it up on a lift to see what issues i might run into. Wiring is no biggie, I'm comfortable with playing with electrical stuff; it is the brake and fuel lines that i'm worried about. Theoretically the fuel lines could be rerouted if needed, but the brake lines would open a whole new can of worms.

We agree with the diffuser part, it wouldn't look right with the slots with no tips in the stock rear diffuser or any other diffuser for that matter. That is where I think it could be expensive. It would essentially be a one-off piece, which would make the car even more unique though.

Dallaz 11-04-2011 01:49 AM

^^ would be sick

happytheman 11-04-2011 06:18 PM

Hey Dallaz, yer car is looking really tight man! Curious question: How much lower is that shine auto lip than the chin spoiler that I assume you removed (as I dint see it on there now)?

Thanks.

Actually I never had to remove that. I think mine didn't have one. We were talking about that at one of our local meets. The splash guard deal on the front right? Well if that's what your talking about my friends scrape on those and I haven't scraped with the front lip yet (knock on wood)

I'm runnin stock ride height though and most of the locals are dropped

happytheman 11-04-2011 06:49 PM

Stock ride height? Those 20's ate some of the gap! I wouldn't change a thing!

This is a good pic of the chin spoiler that runs the whole length of the front bumper:

Great looking Z, love the progression and excellent photography skills!

I would only say definitely get something exhaust wise to mate up nicely with how aggressive it looks now...CF looks really great with the blue

Love the concave wheels too....oh by the way, rear spats, just 3m tape or any screws?

happytheman 11-04-2011 08:08 PM

/\ Didn't you get the carbon fiber FI? I'm trying to recall.

Yeah no kidding! They did close the gap a lot and erase most of the need for spacers. Thanks for the comment. If anything I would run a 5mm spacer but theres not too much of a point and I would still like to get coils so I'm gonna wait till after that and see

Thanks, really appreciate the comment.

Unfortunately I've never taken more than one SB-800 out when shooting for lighting but once I decide to break out the lights I think I'll get some good stuff.

Yeah I need exhaust baaad!
I will definitely go for Carbon Fiber fast Intentions for the appearance and sound in the future but temporarily I'm going to get AAM short tails. I also plan on Berk HFC's. She's just tooooo quiet!

One thing that worries me with the FI cat backs is that a lot of people say the tips rub the Evo-R carbon fiber diffuser that I plan on installing cause the pipes are so fat!

And as for the carbon fiber on blue I think it goes great as well, thanks.

I was sold on the concave also, aside from the fact that I got these for an awesome deal. $800 for the wheels and practically brand new Hankook Evo V12 tires (thanks Chris). I like how the concave looks with the mesh.

The spats are just held in place with 3 screws. No tape. Fitment is perfect on one, and There is about a 1/4 inch gap for about 3 inches on one side that I plan on filling in with some kind of weather stripping. It's not noticeable but I don't want water seeping inside

Ya I got them..love it. Will match up amazingly with this Z...

TheGreatOne 11-05-2011 12:17 AM

WHAT! 800 for those wheels...great deal! Jealous lol

My tips are very close to my car, i literally can't get a terry cloth in-between...looks and fits great though. I think a lot depends on how they install it. I've seen some guys where the tips stick out way too much..so i think u can adjust...but i imagine its tighter with the diffuser...

Ya, I think if I didn't have this unique 40th colour, I'd be all over the blue!

Yeah I got lucky on these. I ended up selling my sport rims and tires (50% tread) for more than I bought these for with great tread on them

Yeah I never thought about a Blue car until I saw the 370. It was always white, red, or black for me until now. I actually really like the 40th's color also

Dallaz 11-06-2011 02:58 AM

Pics from the Dallas (actually in plano) cars and coffee on 11/5/11. It's hosted by Classic BMW the first saturday of every month. I worked a double on friday that ended at 2:30am, went to sleep around 3-3:30, woke up at 6am, met with a local Nismo 370 at starbucks at 6:45, left for the show and got there at 7:20 (like 30 minutes before sunrise) and there were already tons of cars. After the show I managed to get an hour of sleep before my 4:30pm-2:30am shift, and now here I am finishing this up so I can finally catch some ZZZZZZ's.

I figured there was no way this guy would let me up here to take photos on this lookout deck but I got lucky. First off I would just like to say that there is major distortion in these photos, some to the point were the horizon is curved pretty bad, because I was using my fisheye lens since I broke my wide angle recently. Here is the first angle showing the North East corner of the lot
