UPDATE: Current Look....
http://images.us.viewbook.com/6e1f5a...fb46_large.jpg http://images.us.viewbook.com/e8bf8b...f004_large.jpg My first thread! I'm just starting by posting some photos of my Z. only had it since June. http://images.us.viewbook.com/20ea80...b587_large.jpg One of my first photos of the Z shot with my DSLR, just weeks after purchase. I had just been driving on the highway and out of nowhere a rock smashed into the windshield with no one in front of me for probably a quarter mile and immediately cracked all the way to the top of the windshield (you can see it in front of my rearview mirror. It has since been replaced. http://images.us.viewbook.com/3417d5...8e2b_large.jpg Rear perspective before I did any mods. took me a minute to get the right angle with this one but it turned out good IMO. http://images.us.viewbook.com/d7cb43...d929_large.jpg smoked lights edited in Aperture. smooth fade towards the front & once again before any mods were done. This one was shot at f/2.8 on my D700 using the VR1 70-200mm 2..8 lens using a circular polarizer filter which is on the lens for almost all of my car shots to avoid reflections. http://images.us.viewbook.com/bb5440...8def_large.jpg Shot here in the Dallas area at the Monthly ZCOT meet. I didn't have my tripod so I pretty much had no option but to get the ground perspective for an un-blurry photo. Turned out though thank goodness cause the other 3 or 4 were blurry. http://images.us.viewbook.com/6e54ee...879d_large.jpg Took the Z out for the first photo shoot since blacking out some stuff (handles, emblems, side blinkers, & roof) and I really like this simple shot. as usual I've got my 70-200 on the D700 for this one. http://images.us.viewbook.com/6de000...d889_large.jpg There is a pretty distracting reflection on the bottom right and yes the car is very dirty, but I had no time to wash it... it was do or die as far as photography conditions; Seamed like the first overcast day we've had all summer here in North Dallas yet as soon as I get on location and set up clouds are gone and the sun is out........ grrrreaaaaaaaaaaaat! http://images.us.viewbook.com/21cb12...b2de_large.jpg This one really showcases the stuff I have blacked out so far, most notably the roof. Would have really liked some cloud cover here to avoid that shadow but they were gone and weren't coming back lol. http://images.us.viewbook.com/97c0cd...7af7_large.jpg Straight out of the steeeeeeeepest parking garage ever! aside from probably needing an alignment from leaving it parked like this for a moment the shot was worth it to me. let me know what you guys think. and by the way I love taking Pictures so if anyone in the Dallas area ever wants to take their cars out for photos just let me know. http://images.us.viewbook.com/902e9c...c5b8_large.jpg Well here we go guys, the sky was on my side with this one, and also this is the first shot in this series using a D90 with the sigma 30mm f1.4. Believe I had the aperture set to f/8 for this one. All of my images are shot in raw and generally post processed using Aperture 3. http://images.us.viewbook.com/2077cc...d55a_large.jpg Here is my first silhouette shot of my Z with more to come in the future. A friend mentioned it may have looked better with the lights on and the brake light as well (was probably right) but we'll never know. http://images.us.viewbook.com/37e018...fa43_large.jpg And last but not least to end this series of photos is an interior shot of the Z. This one was shot with a Nikon D90 using the Nikon 10.5mm fisheye at f/4 and I think 1/15th of a second shutter speed. I tried it from the center first but then settled on the upper left hand view mainly because I didn't have much light and held the camera steady on the top of the drivers seat. I looked like a retard in my parking garage sitting in the back of my Z with the trunk open but thats what it took. My (now neglected lol) 3KGT is also in this photo along with a slight glimpse of my chicks Synergy Green Camaro, and if you look you can see me in the rearview mirror.... all of which was unintentional. HOPE YOU GUYS ENJOY, much more to come and thanks for looking!!!!! |
Nice picures! When I first saw your avatar, I thought it was one car photoshop and layered! haha
|
wonderful shots! Glad you could join us :)

Thanks for the comments guys! I have a lot more to do to the Z of course. @boost I've been on your pages b4 serious stuff man, I'm sure we'll meet one day your not to far away from here. @hdskull thanks, that would be pretty tricky in photoshop. The most Extensive I've gotten with my editing is to change the background.

More photos!!
Here's a couple quick shots I took the day of the once yearly courtesy nissan meet hosted by the Z club of Texas. this one was at about 5:30am!! Washing it before I headed to the meet.
http://images.us.viewbook.com/9ca23e...18d6_large.jpg And this one is after the show on the drive home. Shot at 1/15th of a sec. on F/9 at 100 ISO. any slower and I was too blurry. this was the one shot out of 46 that looked OK and I brought a lot of extra shadow detail out using Aperture. http://images.us.viewbook.com/bcbead...e9e4_large.jpg |

How did you mount this?
My friend took it from the passenger side at 17mm on full frame. I had him hold it against the window at the base so it would move as little as possible against the door panel |

Here is a quick edit I made (like 30 minutes) in Pixelmator. It is three layers; the exterior, interior, and photo inside the nav screen. It's not perfect but let me know what you guys think.... more edits like this to come whether you like it or not!

I just got my full Aero Jacket (sunline/shine auto) carbon fiber lip kit in! Thanks to forum member Flushnismo for the sale. I won't be installing it for a while though because I'm now waiting to get the carbon fiber fang cover from the Z store(order placed on 9/21/11 for fang cover, carbon top peice for front bumper, black nismo shift knob, GTR ignition button, and carbon B pillars) and which will obviously need to be installed before the front lip and I will also wait to install them until I get the Evo-R rear diffuser in carbon fiber so I can have all the peices installed at once. I will post pictures of the lip kit soon and update as my orders come in.

a couple new photos of my Z at our weekly meet.
#1 http://images.us.viewbook.com/d43f31...2388_large.jpg #2 http://images.us.viewbook.com/760c30...2264_large.jpg #3 This one was shot just after the meet. Ive been wanting to get a shot like this for a while but 1. the fountain lights weren't on 2. kind of needs to be closer up 3. just not what I expected so i'll probably post a newer vision of this shot soon http://images.us.viewbook.com/fe967a...1785_large.jpg |
Looks great man! Can't wait to see it when all your new parts come in

My Z store Parts arrived today and I got everything from the order installed. Carbon fang cover and upper trim, carbon fiber B pillars, Black nismo shift knob and GTR start button. I'm very happy with the way the pieces fit. My stock shift knob is now in pieces from from trying to take it off by myself with insufficient tools, but I got everything installed properly without damage to the boot or transmission so....... O WELL. As for the fang cover and upper trim piece the install is pretty straight forward, but I did add a little extra 3M tape to the fang cover. The B Pillars are extra flimsy, like paper thin (exaggeration) and fit very snug over the stock ones with very thin tape along all edges and in the center. I used a microfiber cloth when applying pressure on the B pillars for install, as you have to be very careful about cracking them. All I took today were some photos on my iPhone but I'll be taking it out for a proper shoot to show off the new additions soon. The GTR start button is AMAZING!! When installing the GTR ignition button I got a little nervous, this was done earlier in the day before installing the shift knob. I got the shift boot up with no problems but then went after the wrong screws to take the kneepads off. I soon figured out which ones were the correct screws and the kneepads just pop off with some light tugging at different areas because there are still little metal snap clips holding them in place. After I got the kneepads off it's just 2 screws (one on each side) to get the faceplate thing off but I couldn't get it to come forward as much as the photos in the DIY page so I had a harder time unplugging the stock button from the back cause of limited space. all in all everything was fairly easy to install and I'm way happier with the look and feel already. More pictures to come soon. Just after install. Shot using Pro HDR app on iPhone http://images.us.viewbook.com/c530e4...46b6_large.jpg limited lighting but it's the best angle so far http://images.us.viewbook.com/37072c...a1cd_large.jpg |
shift knob looks good. lol i wouldve helped if u asked. post pics of the lip!!

I have the carbon fiber fang cover, upper trim piece, and B pillars from the Z store installed and will be posting a picture update later tonight probably around 3am because of work. I've also installed the black nismo shift knob and GTR start button but didn't take any interior shots today while I was out. Loving the look and feel of the interior with these additions. And last but not least I've also just aquired a 40th anniversary Z car cover, thanks to forum member cowzrul for the sale.
The quality of the cover is amazing, nicer than the softest bed sheets money can buy I'd say :roflpuke2: and took me about 30 seconds to cover the car up so I will more than likely be using it everyday as I park in a parking garage. |
So tired I could only edit 3 pictures.
Here is a shot from the last photo shoot before installing any carbon fiber. http://images.us.viewbook.com/48961c...2289_large.jpg First shot with carbon fiber put on the car. The saturation was brought down just a little for more subtle colors, as I didn't want to distract from the edgy curves in this photo. cant wait for painted headlights! http://images.us.viewbook.com/43f313...82a1_large.jpg And for the last photo in this series, I decided to change the colors up a little bit ("little bit":roflpuke2:). This shot shows everything that I've done to the car thus far exterior wise. 5% Rear Windshield Tint 5% Rear Quarter Window Tint Front side windows: 20% tint layered on top of previously 35% tint, it looks pretty close to 5% 5% Eyebrow tint Blacked out Nissan Emblems Blacked out Side Blinkers Blacked out Door Handles Gloss Black 3M Vinyl Wrapped Roof Carbon Fiber Fang Cover Carbon Fiber Upper Trim Carbon Fiber B Pillars ..............And cant forget those 370Z Decal Stickers! http://images.us.viewbook.com/ea03b2...83d6_large.jpg Enjoy:tup: |
PICTURE UPDATE!
The first shot in this series, shot in front of an old shut down gas station, with my new additions of the AeroJacket (Sunline, Shine Auto) side skirts and rear add ons. I installed it myself and will also be installing the front lip this weekend. http://images.us.viewbook.com/db4bdf...f678_large.jpg Second shot at the same location in front of the pumps, I added some heavy vignetting on this one. I'm loving the look of the kit so far, can't wait to put on the front lip even though it looks good as is in my opinion because the carbon fiber I've already installed on the front compliments the sides and rear pieces well. http://images.us.viewbook.com/11a599...b5fd_large.jpg In this series of shots I'm really trying to diversify the way I edit the photos as not to give the same look between each shot. A little something for all you photo junkies:tup: http://images.us.viewbook.com/c02277...5949_large.jpg Last shot.... Hope you guys enjoyyyyyyyy! http://images.us.viewbook.com/0f4477...14fb_large.jpg |
