Neck and neck then. I just need to borrow your talent in the car? :icon17:

I wish you could of made it? But work is work.

Mike 03-25-2012 06:38 PM

yeah, it really sucked. Even though I was only going to bring Teresa's Z4. Really curious as to what it would have pulled.

Yea, it's not there.:icon17: It traps heat IMO so I remove along with all the other plastic trim in the bay.

I removed my manifold cover also, but ended up putting back the other two covers over the little corner compartments. On the battery side, I've got my catch can in there, so I figure keeping it colder helps condensation. If you actually had a battery there I'd say keep it for that too, but I think you already relocated that, right?

On the brakes side, I figure keeping engine bay heat off the brake fluid reservoir can't hurt, but now I'm not so sure which way is better tbh. I guess the missing data is I'm not sure, when the fluid is hot, how far up the brake system the fluid heat travels (or how much difference cooler fluid at the top of the system can make). My suspicion is that the brake fluid stays slightly cooler with the reservoir insulated from the bay though.

SPOHN 03-31-2012 07:44 PM

Trying to get it done. Need to find a good way to bolt inside the fenders without affecting the wheel wells.

Just use small screws

SPOHN 03-31-2012 07:55 PM

Seems like there going to go threw the plastic wheel well being it's tuck into the inside lip of the OEM front clip. I want to make sure I don't have to unbolt it everytime I remove it. BUt I haven't really looked at it. I just quickly glanced at it for a moment

LMBmikeZ 04-01-2012 08:51 AM

Nice so far spohn! Can't wait to see installed pics and pics of the new lip kit!

Body Transformation

Well after two hard long days I got all my body mods on the car. It looks killer IMO. It really sets it of. Especially the black. It gives the car a better contrast. Course hard to tell from my crap camera.

But below you will see the Shine Auto Spec S kit, Stillen Canards, and the super sexy Carbon Signal Hood Vents that I had molded in. Boy they look killer. I bought the Shine kit in FRP and I plasti dipped it. :icon17: I went this route being I track my car a bit and I felt this was a great alternative than expensive paint that would get tore up my first day out which is coming soon enough. I can easily repair or redo on the fly with plasti dipped. Which has already shown me from three track days that it's very durable.

I also added the Stillen front canards for some front downforce for some extra bit threw the turns. Especially any off camber turns. As far as the rear I'm not sure what I'm going to add back there. I've been holding out for something that really grabs my attention.

Then finally the Carbon Signal Hood Vents. I'm so glad I got these. They are sharp as hell. Many props to the guys at AutoGlo. I know it had to be a pain to do but I'm happy to sport this rare piece. It sets it off in a good aggressive way. So hope you like and enjoy.

No. I might end up doing that afterall until something else comes out. There only 200 bucks. It will give it a well rounded look.

Thanks man. The car is great on the track. No issues yet. The Stillen kit is great. Course I haven't had a chance to use it yet. But I will at the end of the month. Need to get a pyrometer though. I still need to install my GTM diff cooler kit also.
