Wait your doing a full 1200 mile break-in, yet you already put the exhaust on which will change how the car behaves by the ecu. So doesn't that technically negate bothering going through the rest of the break-in period? Im asking because i believe if your gonna follow the guidelines you should follow them, and visa-versa...
Just wondering what your view are on this. Not trying to bash just curious. Some people do things one way and others do it another.

I look at this period as a break-in for the motor internals specifically the piston rings. Putting the exhaust on will change the A/F slightly but that is more of a tuning thing and shouldn't affect the internals that much. I have not had the car of 4K rpm which causes more stress on the motor and internals.

Why did you wait unti 1200 miles to go above 4k rpm??? im about to order a fast intentions exhaust. Do i need to put 1200 miles on it before i go above 4 grand?

First 1200 miles is the break in period for the motor. It's what the factory recommends. People have their different opinions on it. But I have broken in every new car I have owned according to the manual and I have never had any major engine trouble.
