Default 370zUsama Build Journal

Hey there everyone!

I purchased a 'new' to me 370z back in May of 2016.
2010 370z 6M/T (G51)

It was either purchasing a used Z or putting a down-payment on a Evo X or STi, and even though they're boosted from the factory, I have no regrets because I love the styling and performance that comes from this car. It also happened to be my first manual car, so the downshift rev-matching was an important thing for me when choosing my options.

The mod bug hit me extremely hard and I researched tons about performance upgrades (the newbie part of me didn't know it was so much more than just engine upgrades) but the community has been so resourceful and I continue to learn a lot everyday and will continue to do so throughout my build.

Also, my goals for the car is to just make it a badass boosted track/street car, but as I'm sure most of you can relate when it comes to this hobby, it takes time and patience because parts are expensive and money doesn't grow on trees.

For a heads-up, I use the acronym: NTRM = Need to research more

The only NRTM you need for the Z1 Diff upgrade kit is to spring for the whiteline bushings over the ES Bushings. Paired with the Z1 Diff cover, the ES bushings don't really fit. According to Z1, you can just force the bushings farther into the mounting hole, but you will greatly deform a collar on the bushings and to me, this ventures squarely into incorrect installation of the bushing. Compared the ES bushings, the Whiteline's go in SUPER EASY.

I'll keep that in mind when I get to doing the diff upgrade, so white line bushings over ES bushings. Thanks Jayhovah!

Going to be saving for a bit, and piecing together suspension components and the z1 clutch/flywheel and throwing that on all together by Summer/Fall. Also looking into the Z1 Front Upper Control Arms and the new Rear Camber Kit from Z1.

Got tuned my Martin of RS Enthalpy and made 315/300 from 287/???. Ambient temperature was around 73*, we had some issues with the tune triggering valet mode but it has been sorted out and fixed. Car drives like a beast in race mode.

Add an HD CSC or CMAK to your list with the clutch/flywheel

This lists can get pretty darn long, especially when you start considering the little things too. Pretty sure I'm still adding things to my list faster than I check them off

Seriously man, I find new things and interests and just forget to update this list. I want tons of rare JDM things but they're crazy expensive.
