The "Iron Mike" Chronicles (Project White Dragon Part 2)
Hey everybody we are back with Round two of my build! So many of you are very familiar with my first round of my build "Project White Dragon". As you are aware there were many ups and downs with my build. There were many firsts for our platform as well. So with that said I am wanting to share with all of you the progress of my current build being generously named "Iron Mike" ~ Tony@FastIntentions. Not because of the car being big and badass but more along the principle of Maximizing the efficiency and power out of a small package.
When we last had this build it was through GTM and we all know what happened there with the company... For the sake of the Build I will NOT go into any details or discussions about the former partner in the build, however, I would like to set the stage with what is coming... We have an updated line of partners some new and some you will remember from part 1. Our Partners: (None of this would be possible without their help!) DTM Auto Body Ecutek Fast Intentions Forged Performance RJManufacturing Rollo Face Strasse Forged Seibon SPC performance Tial (Xona Rotor) Tint World (Chamblee, Ga) Zele Japan Our Goal: To make as much power as my motor can hold and these turbos can dish out! Now whether that is 1300whp or 1500+ will all be down to my motor and the new kit. We are here to reset all of the world records yet again. At the same time we want to maintain some semblance of DD capabilities so that others can experience the fun I have with this platform. What compression ratio are you running with the 4.5 block?
|
Running 8.5:1 so we can run 93oct for higher psi
|
Fast Intentions kit arrived yesterday. We weren't able to get on the dyno for a baseline due to a busy shop schedule but we are scheduled for Monday. So stay tuned!
|
Alright finally found a new thread for all the new goodies your going with. looks promising man and can't wait to see how it all turns out for ya

UPDATE:
So we weren't able to do pulls until late last night. We had to strap down the car so tight that cause the tires to sit on the rear bumper. This lead to us removing the rear bumper and doing the pulls last night. Posting numbers: Due to the results of last nights Dyno I do not believe it would be an apples to apples comparison just by swapping the lower intake plenum. Here is the reason why I say this: The car prior to the new lower intake was running a 10-11 AFR on the top end. With the new lower the AFR's rose 3 AFR points!!!! What does that tell us? We are getting more air than the GTM Kit was capable of flowing. Well with more air means a leaner AFR which means my numbers will not be accurate as to what the kit could make. Given that my tune is locked Sharif was unable to make any changes to show the true gains of this intake manifold... So in the grand scheme of things it looks as though the lower intake plenum has increased the volumetric efficiency of the motor. There were no vacuum leaks which means we have made a considerable increase in efficiency to raise the AFR ratio by 3 points. Now I could have Sharif wipe the tune and start all over again just to see were we stand... But this would set me back a week on my build and jeopardize my car being at Zdayz and something I am not willing to do. However, my Fast intentions kit is in hand and we are stripping the car this week of the GTM Kit. So we will get numbers in a few weeks leading up to Zdayz on the new fast intentions kit. Our final comparison will be the best GTM/Gamma could produce versus the best Fast Intentions could produce. |
UPDATE:
My Motor, GTM TT Kit and Exhaust where all pulled yesterday. We are double checking everything and then will be installing the NEW Fast Intentions Stage 4!!! Twin Turbo kit! Keep an eye out as I will be posting pictures as soon as they are available. |
sub'd!! :)

I don't understand why u went with such small turbos :shakes head: this must be the fancy gt2860 everyone is raving about. Totally weak bro :stirthepot:
:worship: |
All I have to say is you can't go wrong with fast intentions! Check out these bad boys!!!
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...pswl3a4yio.jpg The turbos were installed yesterday and the cooling lines were being built and installed while I was at the shop yesterday afternoon. Some good progress is being made! Now the debate remains... recirc or open dump? I know tony's answer... lol |
open dump :yum: lol
|
I had to recirc mine. Holy balls and arse it will be insane with open dumps on that thing hahaha but if U wanna see how far u can go it's the only way
|
Update:
I was at forged performance yesterday. The motor is already back in the car and we are getting things cleaned up and new supporting mods installed while we wait for fuel upgrades and new intake pipes. Coming along nicely! |
UPDATE: my GTR intake pipes are on their way from fast intentions and will be here on Thursday. Luckily my powder coater is right down the street. Going to make good progress this week and next!

UPDATE: my new steering wheel arrived from Germany and man is it pretty! It has a nice thick feel to it and with my large hands it feels super comfortable.

So intake "tubes" as tony from fast intentions swears they should be called arrived today and were picked up by my powder coater. They will be on the car through Zdayz and then will be up for sale as my Greddy intake manifold will require new ones.
My intake tubes lol and my eps throttle bodies will be on the car early next week and then it's just the fuel system remaining. After the fuel system upgrade we should be able to start tuning and get the car ready for the body shop to do my chassis mount wing. |
Went to forged performance on Friday to ship out my old sport diff for a member. Man does the fast intentions kit look soooo good!!! Also I have to say the turbos fit in there really nicely! The new axles and diff are already installed, the new oil pan is as well.
So what's left? Fuel pump upgrade Eps big bore TB install GTR intake re-install Exhaust re-install Qtp 3" cutout install Testing and tuning for this first round We will be coming back after Zdayz to really push the kit given that I still have to go to the body shop and finish my interior work. I will post details of that later. |
So excited to see this happening Mike!
|
So its coming down to the wire and a big decision has to be made on the fuel pump... just waiting for a call back from Sharif so I can make a decision...
