Alright... So I havent updated in a bit...
Well my garage is a mess! The car is on Jack stands and the entire front clip has been disassembled! I have torn down the block and have sold some of the parts. I still have a set of rods for sale at a steal of a price! The new block has been closed decked! I just received the new dry sleeves last week. I will be shipping my Bryant racing crank along with my heads to RJM for my new short block assembly and the very first set of VHR CNC'd heads ever done. Here is what my Crank looks like: http://www.thenismoshop.com/assets/i...crankshaft.jpg |
The current plan is the following:
Orders: Ordered new 1.03 Custom AR Housings From Tial (Huge thanks to Fast Intentions!) Order New Samco Kit Ordered RJM Oil Pump Gears WPC treated!!! Ordered and received Greddy GTR intake manifold! (WHAATTT!) Order all new engine internals Order ATI Super Dampener Order Super Secret Exhaust Cams Block: Ship Parts to RJM for new short block Get Heads CNC'd Have everything sent back to Georgia... Final Assembly... Intake: Send To RJM Port Match from the heads to the 70mm TBs! New 3" Intake Piping created and installed Polish and powder coat work Fuel System: Super Secret RJM Surge Tank!!! (New product coming soon!) Battery Relocation Triple Ti 485 Stock Hanger w/ single Ti 485 Reassembly... Then upgrade to the RJ Clutch Pedal. Ohh then smash records!!! |
Interesting plan mike....waiting to see everything put together and smashing records

Shipped out the parts today! For those who don't know I spent a ton of money with GTM and I spent over $4k on built heads... Well guess my surprise when we pulled the heads and they were stock!!! Freaking stock heads!!!!!! So needless to say I will have to pay to have them done again... This time I'm assembling the long block... The new setup is going to be great! BIG thanks to the guys at RJ MFG. This is going to be an insane motor! 9k rpm 4.0L monster!
|
So for those wondering the limitations of stock heads... It's 1000whp not 1 hp more
|
The "Iron Mike" Chronicles (Project White Dragon Part 2)
Don't know if I'm surprised by the stock heads holding that much power or GTM scam.

Thanks and I am looking forward to the new setup! this new motor will definitely take the Fast intentions kit to the next level!
|
Good luck on the new set up! Do you have any video of the old motor popping?
|

has been happening for years on all types of engines. Been there done that. It is a hard pill to swallow. I am very reluctant to let anyone build one for me. Let's just say I learned that hard lesson years ago. |

smh..Atleast you found out now (good thing for motor tear down) and not afterwards assuming they were in there wiht the prior setup. That is just a whole new low. |
Well a new update turns out we are getting the whole intake port matched from the throttle bodies all the way to the heads. Even the turbo manifolds will be receiving some love... After handing these items over to the porters we found lots of areas on on the Greddy intake that could be improved upon and since we are porting the exhaust ports this means a slight adjustment on the turbo manifolds to reduce any chances of turbulence.
|
The goal is to have all the port work and the machine work on the motor done in a few weeks time.
|
Update: Port work is done!!! Now just waiting on the motor to get into que with the motor shop... Then it's time to determine the new rod lengths and Pistons to run. Will be running 10:1 or 10.5:1 compression and a square setup with the 96mm x 96mm setup. This should be a very strong setup.
Finalized on the SuperTech black nitrate valves and increasing the size to at least 1mm possibly 1.5mm depending on our piston choice. The port work took about 2mm out of the intake side and 4mm out of the exhaust side... Combine this with the new 1.03 AR housings I just received we can expect the new setup to bring the PAIN!!! I will say this... I don't think I am ever going to go this balls out on a car again... Too much money and down time to truly enjoy the car. Still debating on the roll cage I want to run... And I may pick up Wiggins new wheels lol |
When I was young and dumb. I enjoyed tearing cars aparts, and redoing them like you. But as I got older. My thinking changed. I think things out more, and spend less money on them now.

Take my new Kawasaki SXR 1100. It's a bad mother F'er able to do 60mph on the lake. I just bought new 42mm triple carb setup and this winter I am breaking it down to modify the hull and redo the motor... Why? So I can kick my father in laws 1200cc Turbo Couch in a standing drag race... Why? Because I can and I am an alpha personality lol... Luckily my Jeep SRT is staying stock even though I want to SC it lol and for once my wrangler rubicon has stayed stock for the last 5 years which is the longest I have ever gone without modifying a car... |
Everything I own has been modded including me. :rofl2: Have more Ti in me than guys have on their cars. :shakes head:

UPDATE: Well the headlights have been dropped off with Tint World Chamblee and in the hands of the expert Will Hardee (retroworks). This colaboration will bring us the first Zoomerang light mods! Keep a close eye out for this new must have lighting mod! Retroworks is the only one making them.
Also, we had a small set back on my block (the sleeves were too short) sent them back and the new ones are being made as I type this. Ohhh and for those wanting to run the aftermarket GTR intake manifolds. You will need to send RJ MFG your driver side valve cover for modification. With their sonic welder they can drop the oil cap height significantly and re-position it in a manner to give better access. My new RJ MFG strut tower brace is going to get some custom treatments as well. That is all for today :D |
Bought some Jun 272 Cams on Friday... Last set at Z1 Motorsports... Gotta say I love shopping with those guys! Always happy to go the extra mile! It also helps they have a good sense of humor too...
Cams should be at the motor builder come tuesday... New built and ported heads should be finished some time next week. So excited! |
Didn't Iron Mike get knocked out and then never recovered? Moses = Buster Douglas??
:icon17: subbied |
