FPenvy 07-31-2015 07:53 AM

I wonder if the new 8L90 tranny would fit. much better tranny from what the vette guys have told me hence the switch from the 6l80 to the 8l90 in one year of the vette being out.

edk370 07-31-2015 09:11 AM

Awesome!!!! I may pick up a 370 again after all the bugs have been worked out with this swap kit. I been saying this would happen as far back as a year ago, and it's happening!!

blak max 07-31-2015 10:40 AM

Bought the car and started the process a year ago.. Thought about doing this after zdayz 2013

blak max 07-31-2015 11:32 AM

LS motor = 6.2 liters right?

......Time to call it the 620Z!!!!!!! 430+ hp, 420lb/ft. torque; 12 sec 1/4s all motor!!!!

Chevy power FTW!!!!!

Can't wait for these kits to become mainstream like Hinson swaps for RX7s!!!!

Masterbeatty 08-03-2015 10:25 AM

I am just curious, does your G have a VSR kit that All girls garage did a few years back too?

blak max 08-03-2015 10:41 AM

Nope.. Saw that episode.. Mine is a momentum turbo kit

Put a new cam kit in so hopefully around 500 to the wheels

edk370 08-03-2015 01:12 PM

^I'm not an expert on Chevy motors, but could the C6 Z06 motor fit too? Or are the dimensions different than the LS3?

blak max 08-03-2015 01:24 PM

Engine is from an 08 c6 vette... The accessories configuration had to be changed to Gto (I think) to fit

critical 08-03-2015 06:17 PM

For those who complain the Z lacks guts but don't want to go FI....620Z! or LS 370Z

I knew this was coming. I'm debating whether to go FD3S LS swap or this. Gotta wait and see.

What sucks about our cars is that when water runs down the front windshield and onto where the panels meet the edge of the windshield, it seeps down and through the back of the battery area and into the bottom. That is where you see the rust and mineral build up in that photo. So if the Z was driven in the winter, chances are you will find the same build up in that spot.

This is also the same reason why using the grommet where all the wires enter the cabin as a way to hook up gauges are a bad idea. The grommet will be worthless and leak water into the cabin unless it is sealed off again with some sort of sealant.

Masterbeatty 08-19-2015 05:16 PM

Yha its either water damage or a past battery was leaking and corroded the metal.
