Alright MAZOC fans, I know, its still months away but this is a good time for those who are not aware of ZDayZ or have not made plans yet to attend to begin to do so. Each year ZDayZ gets bigger and bigger and this means you need to plan sooner rather than later, or risk not getting a room/cabin at the village resort. The MAZOC group typically caravans down a few days early. Several of us are actually departing on the Sunday prior to enjoy a few extra days of the Great Smoky Mountains and the Dragon a little early.

Registration begins 1 January, 2014.

Reasons to attend ZDayZ

First: The Tail of the Dragon. One of the most exciting and fun roads in the country to drive. Consisting of 318 S-turns in 11 miles, it will subject you to various turns and elevations changes all combined at some extremely off kilter moments to test your driving skills. When you complete your first run on the Dragon you will know just what makes the Z worth every penny you spent to own it.

Second: ZDayZ, the event. Take over 940 Nissan Z, G and GTR enthusiasts from all over the country and bring them together in the mountains of North Carolina and you have the combination for one heck of a time! Whether participating in the many events that are put together, driving the many excellent roads, or just chillin' and grillin', you can't help but have a fun and relaxing time.

With that in mind start planning now! There will likely be a separate thread for MAZOC fans to sign up for a caravan down in the coming months. In the mean time start making your plans (requesting vacation time, reserving your room or cabin, etc.). Here are some links to all the pertinent information along with some videos to get you excited all over again:

Already have the room booked! Can hardly wait, although I will need tires and brake pads before this years event.

I look forward to attending 2015!

We'll miss 'ya! I guess we won't have to hear that dreaded sound of you scraping the front lip on the 'vette on those low driveway lips again. Every time I hear that, I cringe, no matter the car!

You can get on the wait list there at Fontana as folks cancel due to various reasons. There are other lodging options nearby as well.

Thanks for the tip! I called and they said the list was fairly long but to not be surprised. We'll see!

sexZness 12-30-2013 10:47 AM

If anyone needs to relinquish their cabin, lmk  I need one ASAP

MyKindaGuise 12-30-2013 11:37 AM

Actually probably going to make it this year!

Not sure if my ears can take the 9 hour drive though. Im sure this will be frowned upon but is anyone trailering down and have a trailer for 2???

eastwest2300 12-30-2013 12:15 PM

man, just get you some ear plugs duuude.:p

m4a1mustang 12-30-2013 12:22 PM

Noise cancelling headphones. :icon17:

MyKindaGuise 12-30-2013 03:06 PM

I literally may need to sound dampen the car. 9+ hours of 70ish mph is enough to make you go numb I think. Anyone going down in a group?? Would enjoy rolling with my homies

m4a1mustang 12-30-2013 03:09 PM

I'm going to do another cruise for the group that goes down Sunday-Sunday, but you can usually find people to travel with that leave mid-week.

IM thinking about taking the full week actually so I can sign up for your volunteer thing.

m4a1mustang 12-30-2013 03:31 PM

You don't actually need to be there for the full week to volunteer. You'd just have to make sure you are there Thursday-Friday-Saturday.

mults 12-31-2013 07:22 PM

Registration is now open. Already 89 people registered...:happydance:

If you have not already, call Fontana Village and get on their wait list. Plenty of time still as many will wind up canceling for various reasons.

Last time I got on the wait list, no one called me and there clearly were cabins available online.

Tigger 01-06-2014 11:38 AM

Can't make it this year for financial reasons and new job role. :( looking forward to pics and vids! Who needs to borrow my gopro?!

That blows, but don't give up. If you do get on the wait list, just check in with them periodically to make sure they still have you down.

Two years ago, there were no rooms available, so I talked to a manager (Tim Gamble) and told him about there not being any rooms available online. I also told him that I was with ZdayZ and low and behold, a few rooms became available. I was also on the wait list and no one called me either.

I don't know if Tim Gamble is still the "big honcho", but it would not hurt to ask.

Good Luck and hope to see you there (I already booked the same room I've had for the last two years). I always make my reservations when I check out after the event is over.

Ron 01-10-2014 06:20 PM

Houston group will be there. We got 2 cabins this year!

Edit:

And we will be there Sunday to Sunday.

m4a1mustang 01-10-2014 07:01 PM

Nice!

Z Stig 02-03-2014 09:42 AM

I don't know if there is going to be a MAZOC group going down Sunday again this year. I am going to be leaving NoVA early Wednesday morning and look forward to arriving mid-afternoon. I'll be happy to caravan down on Wednesday if anyone else is leaving early from NoVA. I'll be willing to caravan back on Sunday if there is a group planning to do that.

m4a1mustang 02-17-2014 06:49 PM

Is anyone in need of a lodge room for the week of ZdayZ? I have a reservation from Sunday-Sunday but it's looking like I'm going to be out for ZDayZ this year since I'll be moving around that time.

Is there a way to take over it from Thursday til Sunday?

m4a1mustang 02-17-2014 07:18 PM

I'll call them tomorrow and see if we can do that.

Most likely with all of the Snow days, my classes won't permit me to go Sun-Sun, so I can coordinate with you to leave around this time if I can get my finals knocked out.

Won't be the same with out you El Presidente, but we will soldier on.

Footloose301 02-19-2014 08:22 PM

Ugh, I'd still love to make it up there this year since I've missed it each time.
