Mazoc 2013 bbq - CANCELLED!
THE BBQ IS CANCELLED FOR SEPTEMBER 14TH
______________________ Here are the details for the official 2013 MAZOC BBQ. It will take place on September 14th at Cunningham Falls State Park in Thurmont, MD. We will set up camp at the picnic area by the lake, but it is first-come first-serve area so we might need to get there early to get space. There will be a lot of activities for us to enjoy for the day other than the food itself. We will be planning a hike to go see Cunningham Falls. There will also be a cruise led by Randy for those who are interested. Of course you can also just relax by the lake the whole day if that's what you want. More details will come once we are closer to the BBQ and get more things planned. The park opens up at 8 AM and we will need a couple of us to get there at that time to make sure we get a spot. If you'd like to join us then and help get things set up, you are more than welcome to do so. I'll set the start time for the event at 10 AM, but you can come whenever you have time. We'll probably grill lunch around noon and have some activities afterwards. We can also grill some dinner after we're done with the hike and cruise. The park closes at 6 PM so we might be there till then. Here I will keep a list of who is coming and what they are bringing. I think if everyone can volunteer to bring something, it will benefit the group greatly and not put too much of a burden on any one person. Re-confirmed names are in bold 1. Shahid - Chicken wings 2. Steve & Dana - Sriracha Burgers 4. Greg & Laura - plates, utensils, mustard, ketchup, tomatoes, case of water, grill utensils, charcoal 6. Jon and Pat - Awnings for shade 8. Chris W. - Chips 9. Mark - Drinks 10. LunaZ 11 Rob - Pie Stuff we still need: -Napkins/Paper towels |
Cunningham State Park looks like a nice location.
To give everyone plenty of time to prepare we could probably do it sometime in August. I know my June/July weekends are pretty well booked. I'm sure we'd need to reserve a gazebo site, too. Occoquan last year worked out really well with that Gazebo rental. |

Shahid, Cunningham State Park looks great and the price to rent the covered shelter is very reasonable. Good job! August works for me.
|
Looks great.
Weekend of the 3rd, 17th or 31st would work great, if possible. |
I won't be around after August 15th..
|
first half of August at Cunningham.. sweet for me.
|
July/August work for me.
|
I'd say the sooner the better, but Im down for whenever. This is always fun.
|
July/Aug sounds great for me too. I was thinking about planning a trip to FL late June or early July but nothings concrete yet so my weekends are pretty much free.
Dee has been getting me excited for this for a little while now so I'm ready!!! :P |
Yeah Chris man, you dont wanna miss this one.. its a good time. This event and the college park event are my 2 favorite events of the year.
|
I'm in
|
I'll certainly be making the trip down!
August is good for me too. Just not during the weekend of Tuner Evolution. Or the 17th because that's a track weekend for me. |

i'm in depending on the date. got sporadic events here and there but im sure i can make it work.
only down side to the location for me is that unlike last year where i stayed at my cousins place, i'd probably have to drive the 4 hours back after this |
Seems like early August would be the best time for everyone. I gotta find out the date for my cousin's wedding and then do it before then. I think it's on the 17th.

I'll be spending close to a month in Vancouver this year. Plan is to spend lots of time on the islands first half of the trip and then the second half spend it in the city. ZDayz sounds like a lot of fun but this is basically the only time of the year I get to see my best friend and his wife and Vancouver is so beautiful in August that I prefer to maximize my time off there. |

make a weekend out of it. |

I could look into it.. I'd be fun, even if it was for a day, drive out there, BBQ/Volleyball/Swimming then drive back.. It'd be a full day.

Also sounds like a lot of mankini. There is a place down there though that lets you rent out a suite basically and it houses 8 people at a time. Get two of those and have a massive party all weekend? |

soooo i got a little excited about a group weekend at the beach idea and went searching for rental places that can sleep like 12 or so of us. found some nice spots for cheap....just fyi lol
actually just found a place that sleeps 12 and in sept is only $395 a night. on a jack Nicklaus golf course and quite close to the beach at the del/md line. i may have to keep this place in mind for myself  has garage and driveway too lol |
