"Network Admin" can mean a lot of things. It's a very adaptable position title. Ive seen guys with that title that setup network equipment all day and ive seen guys with that title who do intrusive monitoring and network penetration stuff. Just saying...
200k is very likely for the latter example.

It's compartmentalized info. Unless you have hands in SIGINT you're unlikely to know more than the average person

So why has he been talking about other supposed things we do to other areas of the world? Why did he supposedly run off with hardware (multiple laptops, IIRC) loaded with who-knows-what?

Have you all not heard of insider threats spending their entire lives working their way into positions of power before suddenly being caught? Because it's a good thing countries don't do that tactic anymore...

Nope, none of those things. (well, maybe brave because that takes balls, but on the whole his method of leaking was moronic). I have been stating that his leaks check out and he is pulling punches. You're the one implying the information he is leaking is untrue, which is what my question is about....what is the "media" blindly reporting that doesn't check out?

He did make 200k a year a few years back. He is/was a contractor. Their salaries fluctuate. Even accepting that he made 120k last year, he has a steady job that more than pays the bills. Lots of people can't say that right now. He gave that up for...what? What motivation could he have had? He wasn't selling secrets to the Chinese.

The girl is a dancer and pretty cute iirc.

I'm not "assuming" anything at all but I'd say it's pretty telling that the government hasn't come out and said "None of this is true. He's making this all up". You don't know either.
