Put me down for some chicken tikka. I'll have to learn how to season it from my mom, but this seems like a good opportunity for that.

I'll throw in $20 for the cause...

KoolKarmaJoe 07-06-2015 03:34 PM

I'll be there plus 1 guest. Undecided if I should bring my Fire Stations favorite marinated Spicy Chicken Mesquite or Hot Italian Sausage grilled and served on hoagie rolls with fried onions & green peppers. Will bring some paper plates/plastic ware too. Chime in if you have a preference of the two choices. I plan on bringing a camp stove if that's ok with Park Rules so as to fry the onions & green peppers.

Easiest is to make is the sausage. But honestly my spicy chicken mesquite is da bomb! I do all the cooking at my fire station for 20 + of the most cynical, complaining, cheap basta*ds there are, and they all luv my recipe. Not to brag, but I did win Baltimore's Best People Choice Award for my chili "Phoenix Rising" in 2009! I know my way around a kitchen or a grill. I'd cook the chili but that seems more a Fall/Winter meal.

I just purchased a really cool Cuisinart stainless steel travel propane grill. I think it will fit in my Z! I looked on park site but could not find out if it's OK or not to bring such to park. Any clues?

I'm in. I can do salmon again this year, I'd just need an idea of how many people would be partaking so I can get an appropriate quantity.

Great! I suspect I'll bring 2-3 lbs of Atlantic salmon. If Joe is bringing a camp stove, I could pan sear it (which I'm much better at than I am at grilling).

aniceh 07-13-2015 05:42 PM

I'm also happy to do cleanup on any other items that might not be covered as we approach the event (desserts, plates, utensils, napkins, etc.)

Charcoal? We got a lot meat to cook, has anyone thought of charcoal? I was thinking that since I'm driving from Baltimore, that I could pick up a 20lb bag somewhere near Park, and make my girlfriend ride with it on her lap the rest of the way haha!
