Any last minute items we need or would like?
Stopping at a store on the way. |
Ribs coming of the grill to finish in the oven, then into BBQ sauce.

Great turnout, great food, great time.
Best ribs I have ever had. Probably the second best brisket ive ever had as well. Still stuffed! |
Patricia and I had a great time at the MAZOC picnic today! It was great meeting everyone who was attending their first MAZOC picnic and also good to catch up with everyone. Thanks to everyone we had plenty of fantastic eats and drinks.
We'll look forward to the next MAZOC event, which is looking like an Old Stein Inn dinner in Edgewater, MD likely in September (exact date/time TBD). |
It was good seeing you folks.. Im uploading images right now, stay tuned...
|
Joe and Jim, you boys truly know how to BBQ.. your dishes were EXCELLENT!

Karen & I had a great time. Excellent location, KUDO's to Steve for finding such a nice spot, well worth the drive from Baltimore City. I'm glad everyone enjoyed the food, I know I sure did. So many good chefs and very good grill choices. If anyone went home hungry it was their own fault, LOL. All the grilled meats were excellent but I also want to acknowledge those Baked Beans! They are very good! It was a pleasure to meet you all, and thank you sincerely for making Karen & I feel welcome.
:hello: |
It was a long drive, but I had fun hanging out with everyone today! I was also thinking we should do a Gordon Biersch meet soon as well, maybe in August/September. I'll probably post up a thread about it in the next week or two to lock down a date.

Sorry we showed up so late today. We both had a great time though, and it was definitely an adventure. Kim had some struggles on the way in towards the end, and toughed through it. On the way home, the extra break was definitely the right choice - we made it to Charlestown, and she was in quite a bit of pain again, enough to fluster her. Had to hang out at the Sheetz there for a good 30-40 minutes to regain her composure. I theorized she needed to fix her helmet, and she had a pressure spot that was bothering her. A little twist of the helmet seemed to fix 90% of the problem, and she was able to make it to Frederick without incident. It was now 7PM and dinner time (yes, it took 3 hours to get to Frederick, almost), so we left from there around 7:45 and we did the final push back to Baltimore. That went without incident, and the helmet fix seemed to work.
I'm extremely proud of her. It's hard to find many people who've ridden more than maybe a hundred miles in a single day, much less over 260...much less a female (no insult intended, men just push through uncomfortable pain typically, even if it's a bad idea). She stalled a few times, but she never dropped and she did everything she was supposed to do otherwise. Cant ask for more than that. |
Thank you all for coming out. I had a great time. The food was excellent!

Thanks Steve for finding the location. And thanks to Jon for driving the truck and bringing that mondo cooler full of good things to drink. Awesome chicken, and brisket. As usual, protein fest... :yum: Great to catch up with and meet all the folks I have not seen before. A great time. We did have a great time. And it was a nice drive there and better on the way back. We were doing the 340 route back. There was a backup and it was suggested by the GPS that we take an alternate route that included a right onto 9, cross the Shenandoah river and then take a left onto Chestnut Hill Road that takes you back to 340, missing most of the backup. Chestnut Hill Road :driving::excited:! Very cool road, only a few miles but worth it. Up, down, left, right, and decent surface. It did narrow down towards the end but yea :driving::excited:! |
Sounds like everyone had a great time! While I'm sorry I had to miss it, I'm glad it went off so well. Rob, Kim totally deserves props - that sounds exhausting, and I can't imagine tolerating a helmet pressure point as long as she did!
Hope to see all y'all at another MAZOC event in the not-too-distant future! Blades' GB meet sounds like a good bet! |
