so why is it that people buy faux heavy wheels and complain their car is slower off the line? :ugh:

kinda like gaining huge weight from frozen pizza and then later complaining they feel tired... :ugh2:

:rofl2: I got almost 60K miles out of the thing, so that should be ~5 years for most people. Or ~3.5 years for me. Or 15+ years for Kenchan :icon17:

lol i hope to keep this car forever and ever and ever and ever... and then if it's true the next engine is being jointed with MB (i will believe once offical or on the nissan site OR mb site) then i will definitely be finding a shop that can rebuild engines... =( it makes me sad thinking about that.

but in all seriousness i'd like to keep this car as long as possible!

one of the reasons why i bought a nissan was for the vq engine... it'd make no sense for me to buy a nissan with some benz engine which sounds like shittt imho when you add aftermarket exhaust... and reliabilty is questionable. :ugh:

most benz and porsch sound like crap with aftermarket exhaust in my area... :ugh2:

kenchan 09-22-2014 09:55 AM

BANG ON!11!11!ONEe1!1ONEONEe1!111!!!! I go this engine because of relabilty and VERY high rev for such a large block.

Uhh... porche with aftermarket exhaust? Really? LOL uhh... Same with a benz? LOL like would you really want to change the exhaust of your c63? sigh :eekdance:

Each to their own I guess... and that's why we get the VQ so we can adjust this plastic mould to our own fit. Minus the fact the stupid 2015 nismo front fascia is way too expensive :( /end complaints

yah, i dont know where the vq is 'harsh'... same with my G... her vq spins up to redline smoothly and effortlessly.

maybe the kid's just scared of reving the engine. :ugh: especially when the kid says his 1-2 shift is rough, he lacks MT driving experience. we're not shy to hit the rev limiter from time to time. hell, i hit the rev limiter often in my dd. :D

kenchan 09-22-2014 10:01 AM

basically if i want a benz engine, i will buy a benz.

benz can :gtfo2: of z's engine bay.

so my expensive wera multi-bit screwdriver took a dump like typical german made products... cool factor , nice quality , character , nice performance... but only while it lasts :ugh: which is its short lived life.. :ugh2:

had to frikken find the 2 balls that fell out of the thing first, then figure out how the f- to put the pos back together. :shakes head: i fixed it, but 30min wasted.

Definitely... it's like 'oh it's a rough tranny/clutch' WELL I said the exact same thing the first 2 weeks. Drove it a lot and then it was like.. :ugh2: yea... the clutch... right... (really it was my lack of skills) Same with the engine being rough... really? Just because there aren't a crap ton of dampers / noise reduction (queue the weight) insulating, fun sucking, boringness... yea. Okay sure comared to my Dad's 2014 is350 it's night and day (cant' even feel the idle!) Or as you said scared to accelerate lineraly and pushes/pulls back too many times causing a jerky ride? Heck I do it to make sure my GF isn't asleep! :icon17:

Seems like people overrate their driving ability and after learning to drive manual I have a great respect for manual drivers. Anyone can drive a straight line, now do those same speeds around a corner with tending to correct gears and VSC off. Then you're really showing your skills.

LOL I try not to rev past 6 too often but once in a spirited moment I do. I tend to rev hard in first (5-5.5ish) and then start shifting until I hit my cruising gear... or depending on my mood sit in first or second because I'm being obnoxious.

kenchan 09-22-2014 10:08 AM

f-king tools with no ballz. :shakes head:

preaching to the choir! Okay the ONLY benz engine I'd want is AMG but that's not benz. LOL!!!! Imagine the 6.3 engine sitting in a 370z... call it a 630z! ahhahaha

hahaha that seems to be German products. Great during your 'hassle' free period. Then after that everything and anything that will go will go. and then some.

yah, most people can learn to move the car from A to B. that's not MT driving... MT driving takes practice and years of experience before one can say they can really drive MT cars. the SRM on these cars make even a novice drive the car like an enthusiast, but gotta learn how to heel and toe without SRM. people saying heel and toe is for track driving, not for street is also mistaken. i heel and toe my dd every frikken day to work to minimize wear on the brakes, full control of the car at all times.

then these bogus says replacing brake pads is cheaper than clutch.... well if one knowz how to heel and toe, then there wouldnt be much wear on the clutch would there? :shakes head: dumbarses.

the general public is stupid.

kenchan 09-22-2014 10:13 AM

the general public is also fat.

i sound like a hater. :icon17:

im really not, just pissed when spending a lot of money on a screw driver when i couldve bought the same damn thing (aka walmart shopper) at walmart for $5... :rofl2:

Open question (please don't flame too hard)

do you guys top up your oil in-between changes? I have my maintanence schedueld in November, have run about 5500km so far, not 100% sure what came from the dealership but can safely assume 5w30. I checked the dip-stick and it's about half between the two open holes. It has come down a bit (I read it was normal to have a bit of oil burn), getting darker in color (was yellow before now a doodoo brown)...

So real question is add quart of a quart or just do a weekly check and if it does drop more then top it up?

Please halp so we can put '/end amateur hour' down for the day!

kenchan 09-22-2014 10:22 AM

lol'ed at ad.... sounds like guy did too much finer things in life..and now bankrupt. :icon17:

yes, you need to add 5w30. color itself does not tell how broken down the oil is. (old people say dark color = bad/worn... this is not true). i still add oil every now and then at 16k miles on the odo. :D

kenchan 09-22-2014 10:26 AM

so i usually buy the 5qt jug at walmart to do the oil change, and a one qt bottle for topping off..

when i open the bottle i sharpie a date on it. usually dispose the remaining oil in the bottle if over a year old. :D

kenchan 09-22-2014 10:28 AM

i also use a disposable paper funnel for topping off... too lazy to clean the plastic funnel each time. :D

wife suggested i buy icecone cones and cut the bottom in the future to save cost. :D hahaha.

kenchan 09-22-2014 10:28 AM

my wife also suggested i should buy the rc truck i want and not go cheap on the one i sort a want. :p

kenchan 09-22-2014 10:29 AM

my wife did NOT suggest replacing old car (G) just because old age...

she was worried same could happen to her. :rofl2:

Thank ya good sir! I checked it after i washed my car this weekend but since it was sitting on a slope before moving back in the garage it read around the lower O... my heart dropped and I thought F'... that is bad. checked again after my shower and it was half-wayish so that was a HUGE sigh of relief.

I'll add a cup of oil (or so) check back after to see the level and rinse& repeat until closer to the top hole. Once I get my maintanence I'll see which oil they use (or make a request to either m1 or castrol since either are readily available) and keep it consistent. Always nice to have that peace-of-mind.
