yah, the owners' manual apparently says to measure 15min after shutting off car or something (so i read on someone's post, i think), but i just check every weekend before starting the car. my Z is always hooked up to the battery manager during the weekday so the hood is unlocked and partially open on the secondary latch. :D so it's very easy for me to check the oil level anyway. i also check other vital fluid levels from passenger side to driver side... steering, coolant, brake, clutch. steering and coolant should be in the mid to high mark, brake can be anywhere within the max/min (level decreases as your pads wear), and clutch fluid should be at the max at all times. tattle tale sign for csc failure is if you notice the clutch fluid level dropping. i think the best suggestion i can make on preventing csc failure is to go easy on the clutch. minimize smashing the clutch-in and clutch dumps. i dont baby the clutch at all, just easy clutch-in and out. G35C's are also prone to csc failures (nissan apparently didnt see alarming rates of failures i suppse)..but i seriously doubt mines going any time soon. also replacing the clutch fluid every now and then appears to help the life of the csc. the cylinder is tiny compared to wat you're doing to the entire car... it's not going to hold up to much abuse. |
Yea I don't pop the clutch out (intentionally atleast)... has slipped on a few occasions but driver error :(
I did smash the clutch a few times when I started especially when revving hard, but learned quickly that it doesn't matter how fast I push the pedal, the clutch will do it's job. |

Although I have noticed on occasion when fully pressing the clutch / half way that there is a bit of chatter/clucking/knocking sounds and feel in the pedal. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesnt... usually after riding the clutch a bit going up a hill or when I'm about to park my car. Engagement is still good, will stall in first (oops moment this weeked) when on the brakes and off the clutch... damn my amateur hour was supposed to be over today :shakes head: |

Heck before I scared to talk so I wouldn't lose focus on driving... now I can talk and drive haha... My gf said she's still 'scared' when I drive but for different reasons now (apparently I'm getting more aggressive but I feel like I leave a fair bit of safety margin) and my other friends noticed the shifting smoothness has improved 100 fold. He made a special mention when I did a very spirited acceleration saying 'that was a huge difference than last month' Had to follow up saying in a good or bad way? He said good! :rofl2: I love how this car tells you what it will do and react! Well not literally but you can feel it... it's pretty awesome hahaha considering before I considered myself a pretty decent driver I can definitely say my driving has improved substantially but still not amazing although I can say I'm probably a better driver than 90% of the general public... but that's not saying much since everyone on this forum probably is ahhaha! |
I need want more mods.

:stirthepot: It WAS very nice getting to see you and Mr. Pint on Friday evening Sorry, we never seemed to meet up on Saturday for some reason. You were missed at Bacon. We did leave a chair empty as a show of respect for Mr. JAR as we assumed he was missing in action. I also ordered an extra side of the "house" bacon in his honor. I thought the missing man formation on I-35 South was pretty inspiring too. The Texas DPS, not so impressed. It was a great time at COTA this past weekend. Some of you "out of town guys" need to start saving some cash, start a paper route, dip into the 401(k), or whatever to get down to Austin for this event. With maybe 10,000 in attendance each day, there is no better chance to soak in some great motorsport action for two full days at a ridiculously low price ($139.00 with corral parking pass). It sounds like Nissan plans on stepping-up the owner perks too. I'll check back in later. Have a great afternoon. :hello: |

Hope you're back over this way soon. More than likely, I'll have to head to Houston again to get my headlights redone. I'll let you know and maybe we can actually meet up. :hello: Quote:

I ordered the Stillen Gen3's and exhaust... BOTH were on back-order. Gen3 having a longer list but seemed it would be finished sooner than the exhaust (maybe higher margins? who knows...) ARGHHH lol I'll probably get a few weeks of the intakes at this rate but won't even get to really test them since it'll be too cold for my tires to stick well.. Exhaust will go on next year. RAWR!:driving: |
