Yeah roof work is definitely not in my skill set. My buddy (who is really good with cars and home construction) did his roof a few years ago after hail damage. He managed to put like $7K in his pocket from the insurance check after all his costs, and still was like "fvck that!" In hindsight he said he would have rather paid someone else the entire check to do the work instead.

 dayam!! but yah, that's got to be a lot of work. :D hahaha

then finally you can start the work.. :ugh2: the agonizing cutting and cutting and pulling and pushing and.. :eekdance:

no thanks. :icon17:

Yeah there is a lot of suspension $hit to be removed. I think his tool just requires unbolting the drive shaft, then removing the differential

kenchan 09-23-2014 03:23 PM

also plumbing work. i hate plumbing :ugh2:

ive already had the ejector pump and water heater go bad in my house... obviously paid a guy do do it. :D

It was probably closer to $10K actual money because he included some $$$ for a decent portion of his time along with the actual materials. Still not worth it he said :icon17:

I have 5 year alignment plan, so I should be able to get back in alignment without cost other than some of my time. But suspension stuff is kinda foreign to me. I'd rather tear up the main harness and rewire it in a full wire tuck in the engine bay than work on the suspension. Which is stupid, because I know the suspension stuff is pretty straightforward. I just haven't done it before, so it's intimidating without someone else to help guide me through it when I run into problems.

yah, we all have our expertise, i think. even car techs can do all the work, but they still have their strengths/interests in a particular area of the car. :D

But plumbing work is so easy. I used to fix that kind of crap all the time. I had several friends who rented and would call me before their landlord when something broke lol. I don't fix the problem for them any more, but I point them to someone who will do the work at a fair price. Their landlord usually just lets them discount the cost from their rent check.
