Xbox posistion?

I'm on my fourth xbox. 3 RRODs and one time it just froze and never unfroze. I've had it horizontal most of the time, but I've put it vertical as

I've had it horizontal most of the time, but I've put it vertical as well. I had problems with the tray getting stuck when it was vertical though, so i've left it horizontal ever since. It's been 6 months since my last rrod and I'm getting a bit nervous.
