The real problem is the DoD is pussifying our soldiers by coddling them.

You're not kidding. Not only that, but machine guns and high explosives were new, and our leadership didn't know how to tactically deal with them. France was a ******* meat-grinder. Some of the stories quoted from soldiers in the book will make you **** your pants.
