You know, these data might be useful. The 350Z didn't have ESC or side curtain airbags one some of the trim levels. Perhaps that accounts for the relatively high fatality rate?

there's a lot of other factors you should consider other than "crash deaths and the vehicles in which drivers met their end"... vehicle safety, driver demographics, locations, weather, etc...

These sorts of statistics tell us at least a little something about vehicle safety (or allude to things to consider), though some thought needs to go into teasing it out. As far as demographics, locations, weather, some of that could be pulled out in a multiple regression analysis or some other method, but THESE data can tell us something and that something might be very useful. At a minimum, they are a stepping stone to further analysis.

Access to data are important to the consumer and I find the sorts of reports that IHS and other groups put together interesting.

I was thinking the same thing. The affordability of the 350Z might make it appealing to a more inexperienced driver; one that might also be somewhat aggressive.

I thought it was interesting to split out single vehicle vs multi-vehicle incidents. Single vehicle incidents probably indicate a vehicle that is difficult to handle either before or during an incident. Hence the look at ESC on things like the 350Z.

What was really surprising to me was how many of the sv deaths were from rollovers in the 350Z.
