i think your thinking about the cartoon "avatar: the last air bender" which is being made into a movie by M night Shyamalan. its like a mythical martial arts type thing

this is different, its supposed to use some crazy never before seen 3D technology

It looks less realistic than I was expecting with all of the hype of new technology made for the movie.

Still looks pretty good though.

With J. Cameron, it was between this and Alien 5. He was basically going to make an Alien movie that would be as if Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection (4) never existed. Hopefully that will be his next project.

My roommate has tix to go see this in 3d on Friday - although its a 20 min preview - might go check it out - looks quite promising

I thought the same thing when this movie was announced like... a year ago? Didn't understand why so many people were going bananas over a live action movie of a kid's cartoon.
