I have to ask, not being a medical doctor or a psycologist. how the hell does a person get to a point like that. i mean do they actually believe

I have to ask, not being a medical doctor or a psycologist.
how the hell does a person get to a point like that. i mean do they actually believe during the act that what their doing is ok.. Or is it more of a half and half thing one side says its bad the other says "eh screw it"? and, lets assume that its a "hard wire problem" in the persons brain.... triggered by x or y event.. can this person even get better? why is it always some latin person doing these things... people are going to start to think we are all cannibals down south.
