I watched Star Wars last night. :stirthepot: The first one (A New Hope).

Also saw Man of Steel at the theatre. That was a badass movie. I was impressed and am shocked at how critics kept saying it "sucked" and was "awful". :shakes head:

Speaking of weird issues on the Z, Ms. Pint was experiencing something weird when starting the car. Tracie, did you find anything? I did some digging yesterday, but didn't come up with anything. Basically, the car acts like it's going to turn on after a delay (some associate it with the steering lock fuse removal), but instead of cranking over completely, the car just goes to ACC. I believe she is able to turn the car of and then turn it on again without issue - please correct me if this is wrong, Tracie. If anyone has any thoughts, please share them :tiphat:

 My Z too (maybe), very weird you would mention this, I need to be more aware of starting mine...I wasn't sure if it was me not pushing the start button correctly or if the car was doing something weird....I have been placed on notice...

I give you props for the autocross girl! I was far too nervous to even try it a second time. Had that sinking gut feeling all day lol.

I was thinking and mine will do this if I don't have the clutch pushed in all the way (a message comes up on the leftmost display telling me to push the clutch pedal). The next time this happens, see if the display tells you apply the brake (for 7AT). There's a chance it's this simple - you're finger is just slightly ahead of your foot :tiphat:

I didn't eat a whole lot (just a sandwich and some fruit and a cookie for lunch), but I did drink a lot of water throughout the day. I probably had somewhere around 8-10 20oz bottles of water, and I still felt slightly dehydrated when I got home.

lol... she's in 7AT, but this is exactly what I started thinking about this morning. It happens to me on occasion, but it's always because I didn't have the clutch all the way in when I pushed the start button.

:icon17: I know, that was the joke!

I've had that happen too. Or I forget my foot is on the clutch still and need to check mileage and start it back up.

From Boy Scout experience, I drank water (and pee'd) all day! If you aren't peeing at least once an hour, you aren't taking in enough fluids.

I know, a little too much information. :icon18:

It was an incredible time on Saturday. Glad that we all got to participate. The thing that struck me the most was how much easier the GT-R's are to drive than the Z's.

I don't think I got over 120 mph in a Z, but easily hit 165 mph in GT-R on the back stretch, and it was effortless.

My biggest problem was that I had never driven a manual Z before; mine is a 7-AT. It wasn't that I couldn't drive it, but I had to think about my gear changes; they weren't natural to me. That was a bit distracting.

I was fine in my car until the oil temp got too hot to paddle shift - I was right above 255. I could definitely feel a bit of a loss in performance as it got hotter. In full auto mode, it just doesn't shift quickly enough. Matt has a 7-AT, but also has an oil cooler so he had no problem.

The instructor came up to me after one of the sessions in my car and asked why I started falling back. That's when I told him about the overheating/paddle shift issue. After that, I just stayed in a Nismo 370 and then the GT-R and had no problem staying up with him when it was my turn.

Again, what and amazing day.

Haboob 06-24-2013 12:23 PM

Alright. Now I'm pissed.

The door chime was a loose fuse (my fault most likely).

The SES? P2098 (Post Catalyst Fuel Trim Bank 2)is the code and he says they can't fix it, because the O2 sensor wiring has been modified.

However, I personally put the HFCs on and the wiring is OEM and wasn't modified.

gurneyeagle 06-24-2013 12:32 PM

Here's some video shot by one of our Houston members on our first session. Things stepped-up quite a bit after this session. I'm the one who blows the horn as we rotate on the back stretch.

No, not yet. I'm not wanting to shell out $600 at the moment.

I was hoping it would just be an O2 sensor or something. :ugh2:

Hey Nismo, I think this your Cousin? I don't watch a lot of TV so not 100% sure.
