While I know the price #'s were inflated (Really, who is stupid enough to drop that kind of cash into an $80k car in the means that his story portrays?).

Sharif "disputes" the time frame, yet never gives one of his own.

Was this an "orchestrated take down by TSM"? Who knows, maybe, but it seems a bit childish.

The pictures don't lie about the shoddy work, but then again - it could have been done by someone else and pictures taken after then...

I don't know, the whole thing that gets to me is this "time frame" situation. It shouldn't take that long to get a build like this done. If it was, say, bring it in for the weekend, do some work, take it back, and so on... yes I could understand. But he said, "Here are the keys!" and just left it. Three months, tops is what I would expect (unless the parts are truly back ordered, then again - still wouldn't be over a year).

All in all, Forged has had its reputation tarnished. If it was done by TSM, then it was successful. Though, I'm hoping it wasn't, because if it gets out that it was - TSM is thoroughly ******.

After reading and typing all of that, I opened my mind up a bit and can see where you're coming from, edub.

However, a lot of what is being said is hearsay and we can only go by what was provided (time frame and photo's).



Thankfully, I don't think I'll ever have to make the decision of which of these companies to use as 1) I'm on the other side of the continent and 2) I don't think I'm ever going to do anything this significant to my vehicle (present or future).

The GTR owner never once claimed he spent 250K on the build, Jalopnik and other folks that failed to read the thread are the only people claiming that.

Let's just round up from 250k to 1MM. Makes a better story.

He (the owner) did state that he's spent $250k on the entire build, which includes the previous work done by Forged.

It was in his original post.

I haven't gone back to that thread for a few days, though I've heard there's been a lot of "clean up" going on, so who knows what's been changed now.

Right, that's what I was saying.

That's the amount he's spent at Forged, including previous work. I think said he had a smaller turbo upgrade or some other sort of work done previous. That's lumped into that sum there.

It's still an extravagant amount that is not believable to a sane person though and he probably overshot the moon on the true amount he's spent in total with Forged.


In the end it doesn't look good on either of them. Time will pass and Forged will have to show off their successful builds and such to regain a reputation.
