My pops was a big Sonny Rollins fan, he was a jazz radio DJ here in L.A. for 30+ yrs until his passing in 1989...the late, great Jim Gosa.

Here's a clip of my dad on the radio from 1976...he even talks about a Sonny Rollins 'One Night Only' gig in L.A. at that time...around the 11:30 mark.

I got lucky and inherited his 'pipes' as they say.

Although, I used to have to do a lot of explaining to high school girls parents when I called their houses for dates.

I'd get a lot of 'you know my daughter is only 16?" and I'd say, yeah, me too.
They always wanted to meet me before letting me take their girls out
