Looks like a great movie. I still haven't watched Senna yet. I've been meaning to.

i found out that my HU pulls max 10A, so i will need to use one of my bigger 12v power supplies . i have these 12v power supplies from my RC car days. i used them as power source for my battery chargers. :D

car audio is great cause it has 4 + sub outs. this way i can place speakers in 4 corners of the garage.

Ah, I was just talking with my friends about our RC car days (they still kind of do it).

I was thinking of starting back up again, but so much has changed that I don't know what's good and what isn't anymore.

yah, mr.alcheng recently restarted and he mentioned the radios now auto-detect used frequencies so no more crystal changing...and all motors are brushless.... :ugh2:

i feel real old now... :wtf2:

Yessir! I kind of miss it. It was loads of fun and I could have gotten into some factory sponsor ships if I had stayed in it, but I got interested in real cars and ownership changes at the track kind of killed it off a bit.

Right? I remember crystals, batteries only lasted 4-5min for the races, lathing motors, brushes... man, it's so much easier now I hear, but so expensive to get back into it.

yah, i still have my lathe, brushes, armatures, cans, 2000mAh nicds from the dinosaur era... which was only 13-15yrs ago? :ugh2:

ok, 15yrs ago some teens would not even be swimming... lol

Huck 04-08-2013 03:40 PM

I wish I could get into drift cars, but anything more than maybe $50 is expensive to me and takes away from car parts lol. It would be fun to have a little drift car though.

the electronics components are completely different than the old days, the motors are basically maintenance free since there's no brush, batteries are easy to condition and the capacity are between 5500mah to 7000mah.

The radio, no more crystal, using spectrum 2.4ghz thus no interference at all...

to start off, you looking at about 1.5k to 2k with race ready equipment, and it will last you for a good while... :icon17:

Yep, I priced some of it out today.

I may just go to the track and drive my buddies around and see if it's something I really want to start up again.

Plus, I was die-hard Losi, and now everyone I knew that was also Losi is Associated, and that seems to be the direction I'm headed if I get back into it.

Good thing I still kind of know some factory drivers  May have to contact them and see if I can get some "deals".

The Associated TC6.1 is actually a very good chassis, however, my favorite chassis on the market nowadays is the Xray T4, this kit worth every penny...

Motor and ESC, you might want to look at the brand ORCA, it is the best brand on the market especially for ESC and battery, motor from this brand is very very popular too
