If you're looking to get rid of any of them, I might be able to use a couple for the ramps I want to build for the Z  I just need it a few inches off the ground to clear my jack when I want to use the front center jack point.

i did something similar. $20 at home depot and I have ramps for my Z, though I will need to add another step to them I think.

btw, how high do you guys need the car off the ground to reach the front jack point? cause the flatstoppers i have are pretty low profile and could possibly do double duty for those that need a short ramp? :)

the car sits like 1.5"-2" off the ground while on flat stoppers.

kenchan 04-03-2013 01:05 PM

I have been thinking about this for a while, just haven't actually done it. I contemplated full size wooden ramps, but have since decided I just need some small ones to get the front end high enough to clear my jack

They're like really low height ramps that you drive up on, right? I think I need closer to 3-4" but I will check tonight. I don't really have need for them since I don't store the car, but if the price is right... :icon17:

yah, they are low ramps with a rounded cup area to hold the tires while in storage.

price is probably not right.... :icon17: they cost north of $200 for 4pcs.

kenchan 04-03-2013 01:18 PM

race ramps also sell roll ups like this:

Mine right now are about 3-4" high, but I think a better height is 5-6". to get that you need about 3 planks of wood.

kenchan 04-03-2013 01:41 PM

too bad my garage has this step at the back of the garage where the front ends of my G and Z are parked. due to this, i cant roll my hydraulic under the car from the front. :(

I am hoping to get away with two pieces stacked, but we shall see... my low profile jack is pretty close to being able to fit already (it hits the chin spoiler at the very back of the jack near where the handle attaches).

I park in reverse when I put the Z on Jack stands since the front requires more room to jack it up (lower clearance and need to get the jack way under there)

I have a step, too, but there is plenty of room provided I don't pull the Z too far forward

Nope, and I have no plans to do so  I would be open to adjustable coilovers, but that's not in the cards until I commit to regular track time.

Looks like I've got a lot and not sure what I'll do just yet. So, when do you want me to stop by? Maybe you can help me figure out if my front bumper paint is cured yet?

When do you want to come by? Anytime this week in the evening should be fine. I want some more Onyx at some point, but I need to check a couple of things before I decide how much I need.

And that would be the reason why. Hell, I already scrape my driveway if I enter at the wrong angle, and it's not even that steep.

that sounds good, mr.zman! i suppose i could do that but my tool case is right up at the ledge so my rear bumper could hit it to make enough room to roll up the roll-up ramp. :icon17:

I'm thinking five squares per door, plus another five squares for leftovers and a couple more locations in the hatch. The question is whether I do the roof as well. I am currently attempting to get the roof lining replaced under warranty, so I will have that done at the same time. Or I could use the 80 mil product that I have. Idk yet...

I would recommend butyl for the headliner and (if you want to save $) the 80mil for the doors. The only reason I'm saying butyl for the headliner is because of the summertime.
