So I went to pick up my undone lip from the wrap place this morning. The owner is already dodging my calls and texts so I was worried he would try to keep the lip since I tried to open a claim against him for previous work. My paint isn't cured yet so I can't do what I want anyway. This wrap job looks like ****. I'll post pics later but now I'm on the fence as to which way to go for it.

Also, received my Nissan fan pack this afternoon.

I thought you were done with that place :ugh2: I wouldn't have let them touch that lip if I were you. Glad to hear that you got it back

$100 for the lip/fangs/bpillars was hard to beat. Also, the owner and I talked it out and he seemed cool about the whole thing.

kenchan 04-01-2013 02:49 PM

mr.alcheng- how goes it with the RC racing?

Wrap. Can't afford to paint the front fangs again. (even though I had asked the body shop specifically for satin black.)

Wrapping would prolly be a cheaper/better investment in the long run anyways...

Plastidip doesn't have that satin look to complement the pearl. I know, I know, I'm being picky as fuck.

Well the lights got fixed and resolved. I asked him to quote the lip and test a piece to see if the wrap would adhere well. I'm scheduled to get it all done next Friday if my paint cures a bit more, but I will be hanging out there all day to keep an eye on things.

Oh, and y0.

He was cool with it before or after you filed a claim against the shop? As soon as you file a claim, I would stay away from the shop. I'm also wondering if by shopping around for the absolute lowest price, maybe you are getting what you pay for :ugh2: Call Colvin Automotive and ask who they use to wrap if they don't do it themselves. You might have paid more in the beginning, but I guarantee you wouldn't have any problems after it was done. If you have any qualms about the quality of the workmanship they just fix it, no questions asked. Their reputation is worth way more than a couple of hours of lost labor and/or materials.

So there is pollen everywhere - should I bother to wash the car (she really needs it)? I came home early to take care of some things before my wife leaves town tomorrow for the rest of the week, so I've got some time and the weather is nice and sunny...

last week the substitute f-kingman threw my kid's clothes from gap like a damn foot ball. spiraling and smack onto the front door.

I'm washing it at least  I may not have time for a wax, but I do have a bottle of that Meguiar's Quik Wax spray that I've never used. Can I use it even though I'm not going to clay?

Next time you see that mailman, you should tackle him like he's a QB and you're Ndamukong Suh (you know... stomp on him after he's down :ugh2:). No but seriously, I would be filing a complaint with the carrier and using the IP cam as video evidence for guys delivering like that. Unfortunately, USPS is probably the only carrier that doesn't care enough to do anything about it :shakes head:
