Planning on ordering some car care "stuff". What kind of clay bar kit do i need?
And do you think i will get my moneys worth from a random orbital thingy? I have never canuba waxed or anything.using the liquid spray and wipe immediately stuff (wizards?), which i like. A lot.

I am definitely interested to try out Mr. Galeforce's suggestion below, but I just purchased a new Meguiar's Clay Bar kit (clay bars + detailer spray + microfiber towel). However, I go through the stuff pretty quick (i.e. it gets dirty fast) because I don't clay and wax every wash.

I used an orbital on my SUVs previously, and it was awesome. That being said I've never thought about purchasing one for the Z. Frankly, it just seems so much smaller than any of my previous vehicles, I'm ok with taking longer and doing it by hand  I just got a solid hand polishing handle for use with the smaller Meguiar's pads as well as a set of the compound, polishing, and waxing pads that I am anxious to try out on some scratches.

I use a diluted ONR (Optimum No Rinse) mixture for clay lube. You can also use clay lube. I have pretty much stopped using clay in favour of an Auto Scrub. You can get an Auto Scrub in pad form (for use with a DA), towel form, and even wash mitt. They are quicker and easier to use with the same results as clay. They last longer than clay making them cheaper in the long run.

Be careful using clay or products that do the same job as clay on your car, the paint is soft and black will show marring easily.

Excellent looking products. I am very interested to try this out

Whenever I clay, I typically have to use an entire bar on the Z to keep fresh clay on the paint :ugh2: That basically costs $9 per clay session, which isn't a big deal when it still lasts 3-4 months.

I am absolutely amazed to hear this isn't a standard part of your detailing  I have two towels dedicated to clean the underside of the side skirts and spats and another towel for the lower rear end including wiping down the exhaust pipes; they are small, cheap auto-store microfiber towels and get tossed after 3-4 washes.

I haven't taken as good of care of the exhaust tips as I'd like, but I have the Adams Metal Polish #1 and #2 that I will be trying here soon. I will definitely share my thoughts and hopefully some before/after photos :)

Wouldn't you know it: I'm taking my Z to the shop to get some goodies installed and tonight the "Service Engine Soon" light came on. :shakes head:

I'm hoping its something simple. Guess I'll be heading to the dealer as soon as the installs get done. :(

Very nice movie, some of the middle part was kinda boring/slow but over it's a nice one, recommended if you haven't watched it.
