April 4th 2011 marks 3 years for my car, and just over 11k on my car, thinking about TT it after its paid off and OFFICIALLY mine , but that's in the future.

Wow! I thought mine had low miles. (2009 - 28K)
I'm thinking about a new truck once the Z is paid off. I hate that I hate what I drive for 25% of the year.

Trying to make sense of this whole steering lock thing.
Should I go to the dealer and get the TSB replacement part that may also be just as faulty as what's on the car now or do I pull the fuse?

I've got an extended warranty so I got the replacement SLU and if it died they have to fix it on their dime. Once my warranty is close to being up I'll pull the fuse.

And good afternoon V's and P's! I'm at the beach,as I always am on a Monday, but today it sucks. It's not warm out or sunny at all. But at least the spring-break'ers are gone and I have some alone time to relax with pandora.

On another note, I sold one of my old guitars on Craigslist, then some old gumball machines they were gonna throw away at work, and now I've done two headlight resto jobs. That means I'm buying Swift springs, probably today, so I should be dropped by the end of the week. Happy happy happy!!

kenchan 03-18-2013 02:42 PM

i saw the after math of a prius and vw crashed at an intersection.

it was like watching 2 birds hit each other with no stones needed. :icon17:

Bum deal.

For me, Nissan just called and they are replacing both fuel level sending units. This means they keep the car overnight -- oh well. They keep it inside the shop, at least.

that sucks, mr. onzedge. :( is that the same issue found on mr.gale's z a while back?

does this have anything to do with not having fuel near full frequently?

kenchan 03-18-2013 03:15 PM

this am i could not help but notice a TL with pepboyz LED strip on the front with one side half dangling from the bumper...

I think it is a known issue with the sending units and nothing to do with how much gas one puts in the tank. I could rarely get the last LED to illuminate and I could drive for more than 100 miles (highway) before the fuel gauge dots began disappearing. No big deal -- it's a warranty thing and I am working from home today and tomorrow anyway.

Sweet. We used to call cars that had cheap/junk/glue-n mods "JC Whitney Mobiles".

huh, at least unlike G's notorious filler problem, you can physically pump to full.

Yep, Nissan did the same on my car. Took them ~2 hours.

I don't think it has anything to do with the amount of gas in the tank, I keep mine full most of the time. I had heard it might have something to do with the type of gas. I'm not buying that either. The tech that worked on my car said it was common for Nissans to have this issue. He saw it on Altima and Maxima frequently.

kenchan 03-18-2013 03:28 PM

mr.gale- wat is the process to replace them? can they gain access without tearing up the interior?

Yes, there are two panels behind the seats that pop out. I pulled the passenger side one when I was replacing the fuel pump. Very easy, you just need to be careful when removing it that you don't bend the floating arm, level indicator.

Thanks for the input. It makes me feel better that they do not have to do crazy stuff like drop the tank to get to the sending units.

One... was thinking he/she can blast through the intersection since there's two motors in the car....

One... was thinking others will get out of the way because they don't want to crash into a "sturdy" German car....

:bowrofl::bowrofl:

:icon18: mr.alcheng- yah, it didn't appear to be a high impact crash as it's in a 30mph zone, no ambulance, but just tow trucks and cops. the funny was the prius didnt appear too damaged, but the vw was pretty bent up.

sounds  on the stringing biz and RC and F1 games
does tamiya still sell TRF chassis? i remember those being like 2x HPI and AE chassis. :icon17:
