Husband's door won't open from the outside anymore. He got off to check the mail and left the car running. Had to climb in and open the door from the inside.

Have you try the manual mode?

Sometimes when one for the elements (distance, lightning etc...) doesn't fit the criteria of the camera cpu, then it won't take a pic.
