What's new today bugaboo? |
Anyone know what the hell the dealer is talking (other than out of their a$$) about a coolant drain requiring special tools for the 370Z? When they tried to sell me a flush at 30K miles for fluid that's supposed to be good for 105K, I just laughed. But when I mentioned doing it myself, and they told me I couldn't... well, that just irritated me :shakes head:
I just looked over the exploded diagram (attached in an earlier post of mine) and there doesn't appear to be anything special required. |

Not much, another day. Woke up with a slightly sore throat since I guess I was laying completely flat and had some sinus drainage. Rockin some gatorade right now. I need to go out and dig around in my hatch to fix a rattle, but it's just too damned cold outside. :icon17: How are you doin? Quote:

and yah, shouldn't need any special tools to do the coolant drain/fill. after draining, i usually fill until coolant comes out of the air release valve, close that, then fill the reserve to max. cap the radiator. start engine, run it at 3K RPM for 10seconds at a time for 3 cycles keeping an eye on the water temp. then add more to the reserve as needed. check work after a nice drive. |

I would have said fine, have your tech do it, but if he does exactly that, my flush is FREE? And when they say ummm no, Walk out. :tiphat: thanks guys! :inoutroflpuke: |
Quote:
Awesome :tiphat: That's about what I figured after minimal research  |
So how often should a coolant flush be done? (7AT) @ 43k right now.

I don't imagine transmission matters, or at least I didn't see anything about it in the manual. I'll probably do mine sometime after I hit 60K miles or so. That way if I procrastinate, it's not a big deal  |

Which WedSports are you looking at? They have several that are :yum: Quote:

I've heard of some people doing an AT fluid flush @ 50k. I'm thinking if I ever went boosted, I'd have to build the tranny anyways to keep up, so that would mandate a fluid change anyways. |

Home, sweet home. Awesome weekend. |

not sure about your AT change interval. |

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6124/...427a6329_o.jpg I like these. I wish they would do the Black/Red machining for me in 19's, but no. :shakes head: |

As for the AT, it says it's a sealed system that the fluid "never" needs to be changed. But come on... We know better then that... |

I'd love to get a set of their TC105N's for track wheels. Quote:

Ack, I need to see it on a non-lowered ride.
|
Quote:
like i mentioned earlier, you want to be in the ET32-35 (9" width) range if you're not lowered for the front. :) if going 9.5" width like my nismo's, ET38-41. |

And I know engine coolant has nothing to do with trannys. I was stating a completely different idea from the coolant, about the AT itself that a fluid that Never needs changing... come on, that can't be serious... :ugh2: |
