mr.jar- that coolant is suppose to be chanced at 4yrs? someone mentioned this to me on another thread. my G runs the old green coolant and that was to be replaced every 4yrs and 2yrs after that (drain/fill). i thought the Z's blue coolant lasted much longer.

can you tell me where the release valve (cap) is located on the Z's hose? thanks. :)

Morning Ken :hello: Yes, the blue stuff is recommended change at 105K miles or 7 years according to the manual. The manual also claims that mixing any other coolant (including the green Nissan stuff) decreases the life of the original, factory-filled fluid.

I believe the pressure release valve is the radiator cap itself (IIRC it is rated to somewhere around 19.5 psi).

I've got several people offering me start buttons. I will be overflowing with them if I'm not careful :icon17:

The one I made this weekend is the one I purchased from darkside, so I'm still sitting on my OEM one that I replaced. There will be plenty

The manual says 105K." :shakes head: So I went inside to buy some (not the slightest bit interested in waiting and certainly not getting a full flush). After purchase inside I ask one of the service guys if I can borrow a funnel, and the guy responds incredulously that they can't lend tools to customers, as though I'm going to run off with their $0.75 funnel. Said fine, screw you too, and drove back to the office.

I only added a little because I don't want to overfill while it's hot. I will check it again tonight at home when it is on level ground and the engine is cold. Here's my red Solo cup funnel :icon17:

Good afternoon all :hello: I had to do a minor repair on some aluminum fascia on my shed, the wind decided to grab it and bend it around. It's fixed as good as I can do for now. Come spring time I'll have to cut and bend a new piece.

Forum related, I did my rep duty, now time to get caught up.

Are you talking about the drain valve? If you are there is a small hose just behind the rad with a Philips head screw in it. You can see this when doing your oil change, assuming you remove the entire under shroud. I can take a picture for you this afternoon if you like.

hi mr.gale- im talking about the valve that's on the large hose (top side of engine bay). after you drain the cold coolant out, i remove this valve on the hose so that when you pour new coolant into the radiaor, the air bleeds out to eliminate airbubbles. (might be called bleeder valve? not sure the terminology). :) haven't taken a close look on the Z, but i think it should be near the firewall.

I think I found it but not 100% positive. See attachments. Nissan appears to refer to it as the Air Relief Valve (#20) in the manual; it is circled in red in my photo.

We got a light dusting of snow this morning... Unexpected, they said "flurries" and it actually turned the grass/street white.

Got the contractors off to a start, my stairs won't cost too much, they think they'll be able to patch it up OK.
