The second one looks like etching from bird poop that was left to bake in the sun. But it's hard to tell without being there.

The first one isn't right.

polished bright is nice.....

it's real easy to do on mine since i swapped the unit already once. i have regular metric screws holding the unit (instead of security bolts) and i have a mini ratchet in the car so it's a 5min swap.

ms.pint- is this like a water stain? would scratch-x and foam pad take care of it?

if not too big, you can use kiwi shoe polish applicator like this to apply. it's what i use when i do spot polishing.
