I can get a signature, I would just prefer to have all NFA items owned by my trust.

Glock 19, Walther PPS, S&W M&P 9L in about that order (based on proficiency needs). I also routinely shoot my AR15 SBR and 16-inch mid-length. Among other reasons, the pistols won't detonate Tannerite.

Gotcha. Makes sense. I am single and want to safeguard my investments, should I ever fall into the trap that is marriage. Angry divorcees cannot legally get personally registered NFA items very easily.

NFA items make up a pretty small percentage of the firearms I own. I'd have many bigger things to worry about in the unlikely event of a divorce.
There are advantages to trusts, but not many of them apply to me to the point where I see it as worth the hassle. Just as easy for me to send in the Form 1. I'm still using passport photos I had shot 4 years ago, my fingerprints are electonically stored at the Sheriff's office...all I need to do is ask them to print me a couple of copies, and the Sheriff is a friend so getting him to sign it is simple. |

I debate whether or not I want an SBR. More realistically I would get a suppressor. That would be fun.

I gotta say, the ease of carrying, ease of manipulation, ease of aiming makes either of my 11.5 inch SBRs a real joy to use. The shorter barrel has caused me to give up nothing and gain a tremendous amount. I find I rarely pack up my Light Recce anymore, and in training I usually only bring it along as a backup. As to a suppressor, that would be cool and I'd put one on one of the SBRs in a heartbeat if they were legal in this state.

Any one here have an HK45? I am looking at getting one for my backpack gun. My G19 is my current go to right now but I would rather have a 45 for the woods. Its hit or miss of my local shop has one and I have yet to see the LEM model to try out.

Why would you want a .45 for the woods? Won't do you any good against any large animals. I'd look at a .357 Magnum revolver at minimum. Not sure what you have to contend with out there.

The biggest that I have to deal with would be black bear, but those are very rare. Its mostly for the 2 legged creatures running around, I always carry when I go hiking and camping. I am looking into a SW 357 right now but want other options.

For hiking I bring my Ruger GP100 .357...for some reason it just feels like the right gun. If all else fails you can use it as a cudgel or a hammer
