I agree that gunbroker is not very user friendly. They really need to update it.
I've never heard of gungenie. I wonder if it's better than gunbroker. Quote:

Looking at this one, can get it for about $1100. S&W M&P 15T

I've read those FN rifles are crazy expensive (6 to 7k). I read that in ar15.com. Personally it's not worth it and why do people buy it. But if they can afford it i guess why not.

I was curious to know. As some of you guys know I own a POF upper. Because POF is a small company and they have proprietary parts (one of the down falls of owning a Piston AR. They should just all make it none proprietary. Hopefully one day when the military adopts it fully. I've read it in a guns and ammo mag that it will be in the next couple of years or so), what happens if the company goes out of business? If something should happen to the gas plug and op rod or the barrel where would I be able to get spare parts?
I guess that means i would be **** out of luck. Hopefully it won't happen. But you never know. |
The FN SCAR 556 is only like $1900 at my local shop.

So I found this one used for $1000. Is this a good deal? It was made in 2007, has less than 500 rounds through it.

I own a Yugoslavian SKS, a Mauser Kar98k from WW2, and a Walther P.38 also from WW2 with all matching numbers that a veteran brought back. I'll get pictures one day. $500 worth of ammo that I haven't touched either :stirthepot:

Stag Arms but I guess if the RRA is local, it would be easier, no need to pay a fee for your local FFL. |
So I ended up getting this one, a Daniel Defense DDM4v3. It will be here by Friday.

Thanks fellas, now that Obama mania has subsided there are some pretty damn good deals on ARs out there.

Nice choice, Tin! Daniel Defense is leaps and bounds better than RRA (at least by reputation).

When I got my first AR and didn't know anything about them, I spent a great deal of a time on message boards my self. It was a pain in the azzs. Quote:

So, i'm looking to get an ar style .22lr. So far i'm leaning toward the S&W. I've heard that it's better than the colt and a good price. It has a match grade barrel and what not. Plus it's a good deal compared to other AR style .22lr.
From what i read that the S&W has good quality for the price. Plus i don't need to spend a whole lot of money for a plinker. I've already spent a whole crap load on my regular AR. Also what are you thoughts on the ruger? Just wondering if any of you guys have or had any experiences with some AR style .22lr. What are you thoughts and suggestions. 22lr plinkers |
I am curious... whats the point of getting a .22lr besides the "its fun factor" and "i want a cheap gun to go plinking with" in all honesty I find it harder to shoot small arms and then upgrade to larger calibers. for instance I shot my 6.8spc and then shot Ben's 5.56 AR and I felt like I was shooting a .22lr. The other weekend I shot the 300 Win Mag and then Jumped on my 6.8spc with an acog and was able to watch the bullet flight all the way to 600yd targets. I never lost sight of the target when going from a higher caliber to a lower caliber. but when I go from a lower caliber like 5.56 to 6.8 or 6.8 to 300WM I have a hard time keeping scope on target throughmy entire follow through....
any thoughts? My thought is if you practice with higher calibers then what you normally use then when you go back to your daily use weapon you are much more effective of a shooter. Ben has shot my 6.8 and it Kicks for an AR!!! to say that I can keep sight picture at 600yd on that gun is retardedly awesome! |
I'm still trying to grasp the concept of why anyone would spend the money to make a .22LR look like an AR. lol
I have a .22LR that I bought from a coworker. I wanted to use it for plinking and maybe someday teach one of my sons some shooting skills. I figure when the zombies take over, we'll need the .22 for small game hunting. :D |
what do you guys think of the Berett compact PX4 storm? im thinking the 40 cal because it will be a self defense gun, it will also be a first gun for me.
I have inherited two other guns but have never seen them as my dads (died) sister wont ship them out of fear of prosecution (argh! dont go there ). with that said, its cheaper for me to buy a new gun than fly to NC to pick them up and either ship them to my house or fly them back with me. i dont think a 9mm will do me much good in a self defense scenario but who am i to say? as i stated ive never handled a gun before. whats your input? forgot to mention this will be the gun used for CCW, so do you think i should go with sub compact or just compact? how are you handling/concealing either? one easier than the other to conceal? ive been told (i work for LVMPD), that in a self defense scenario, you'd better be awfully close to the person so a long distance shot doesnt matter (hense the subcompact possibility). |
