I think I'll need to do a good wipe down on my guns.

Thanks for the reminder Rusty, I've got to get mine out for their semi-annual PM.

Remember, a firearm has two enemies: Rust and politicians. :stirthepot:

Oil up every part of the gun and use the silicone socks to completely cover them. If you have gun cases. Put them in there after putting socks on them. About every 6 months. I will check and reoil them. I do it with the changing of the clocks.

I have been using Evadry dehumidifiers.
https://www.amazon.com/Eva-Dry-Edv-2...xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

2 of those keep my storage area at 25-40% humidity. This is a bit too low for wood stocked weapons, but even chemically stripped, naked steel does not corrode/rust.

On another note, I've been a long-time Surefire fanatic, and just purchased a KAC QDC suppressor. It's my first non-SF centerfire suppressor, and I am anxious to get it!

My Nightforce NX8 and t he Badger C1 1.70" mount are money, as well. If you're looking for a LPVO solution, I can't recommend this combo enough!

https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net...60&oe=5E5360C3

It's going to be going on the 12.5" 5.56 SBR that the KAC QDC is slated for. Will be running a MAMS, of course.

*Excuse the stain, that is a coffee table I picked up for like $20 at a thrift store. 100% solid oak. maybe one day I'll re-finish it.

Just added this to my collection. I have wanted one of these for a few years. The right deal came up. Carrying 150rds in 6 mags.

Time for some gun porn.

Fun facts:
( Click to show/hide )
- 28.7" barrel for an overall length of 44.3" but the barrel can be locked back while being transported for an overall length of about 36" (16" barreled AR-15 with full stock is around 35")
- Sub MOA accurate
- Even though its 25lbs the bullpup layout make it easier to shoot off hand than other 50BMG rifles.
- Retails for about $12k and spare mags are $375. GM6 Lynx for sale

Rusty 11-27-2019 11:47 PM

I've seen that video the other day on youtube. It's got one hell of a muzzle blast.

I can see it now at the range. When some idiot you know asks to shoot it. He's holding it loose, squeezes the trigger, and up with a very bad case of scope eye. Putting the scope half way through his skull. :rofl2:

Ghostvette 12-02-2019 08:06 AM

I picked up a Springfield Armory Saint AR pistol in 300 BLK. :yum::yum:

After the first of the year, it will be off to Blown Deadline for a Mandalorian cerakote job....:tup:

tvfreakazoid 12-02-2019 09:16 PM

I try not to support Springfield.
But I do have a 45acp XDM. Back in 2011

You know that's not how you're supposed to tenderize meat.

I guessing it didn't go far after being hit with what ever you shot it with.

BTW what did you shoot it with?

I'm voting for close range 45-70 with an aggressive hollowpoint/softnose. :p

I'm probably wrong. :icon23:

Second guess is a 50AE DEagle just because.

Been thinking about getting one of their single stages for one of my rifles.
Can't go wrong with Geissele.

Things are getting "interesting" here in Virginia. Most of the state has declared 2A Sanctuary status with many more cities/counties thinking about it or waiting to see what happens when the Dems have full control of Virginia. Some Dems have said they'll deploy the National Guard to enforce the new gun laws. VA might be in full on boogaloo next year. Hopefully not. :eekdance:

Current count: 62 out of 95 counties, 9 out of 38 independent cities, and 8 towns.
Edit: BTW for those who don't know, in VA areas are either cities, counties, or towns. Nothing overlaps like it does in the rest of the country.

Go VOTE, Get everyone out. Folks wonder why we are against any new gun laws.

Virginia is a test ground. Everyone want's to see how it's going to unfold. :icon14:

Ya, Republicans feel asleep at the poles this past Nov. If DC wasn’t next to Northern VA, VA would be very red.

After that response in New York to that vet claiming he was being red flagged, it’s going to be interesting. :icon14:

I’m hoping things are resolved with out violence but I think things are going to get very ugly.

The Red Flag laws are going to be abused a lot.

It's best if people would protest. That's the best bet. What the dems are doing is against the law and going against the constitution.

There has been some serious protests to the point that it makes we wonder if some of the protesters voted for the Dems. The turn outs for the 2A sanctuary votes has been impressive. A couple of counties switched venues to accommodate the turn out.

One thing is for sure what ever happens here in VA is going to affect the rest of the country. Especially in states like California and Illinois.

Especially considering that there are some decent conversion kits out there.

I'd like to randomly complain about Form 4 wait times.

That looks like some sort of ballistic tip or something of the 3000+fps, 100gr+ category.

I would have a real hard time having to point a gun at one of our own in the national guard. But I would have no issue with bear traps and dogs. :) If anyone is interested, I can show you how to make a cheap ground safe not detectable by most metal detectors.

You and me both. Hopefully this will all be fought in the government/courtrooms and not in the streets.

Final update before the new year. Only 3 cities/counties voted against 2A sanctuary the rest took no action.
