Eh, not that silly really (aside from the color). It's not unusual to paint or coat the rotor hat (the center) to prevent it from rusting. Painting the swept part

Eh, not that silly really (aside from the color). It's not unusual to paint or coat the rotor hat (the center) to prevent it from rusting. Painting the swept part of the rotor was simply a waste of paint, the pads will remove the paint in a few miles of driving. The brakes will work fine.
