Plenty of good advise. What I would say is what ever career choice you decide on, what ever service you decide on, get it in writing. 22 years of Naval service taught me that. Get it in writing.
I saw to many shipmate enter the service and trusted the system to make a choice or give them options down the road. The results weren't always what they bargined for. Get it in writing before you sign. AGC(AW/SW) USN Retired
